Tarkington as a midwesterner
[edit]Greetings Wikipedians! The first couple of paragraphs in this section lack citations to reliable sources (indeed, any sources). I will attempt to add some. Cordially, BuzzWeiser196 (talk) 10:56, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
- Please see WP:LEADCITE. Typically, citations aren't need for the opening paragraph (and the infobox) that summarizes the article if reliable sources are available to back up the information in the body of the text. Obviously though, for the first few paragraphs in the body, some of which need more sources, that'd be a great improvement if you're able to find some good ones. --Cerebral726 (talk) 12:39, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
- I can do that. But just to clarify, I was referring to the section "Tarkington as the Midwesterner". There are no citations to support the first paragraph ("Tarkington was an unabashed..."), second graph ("Tarkington was one of...) or the third graph ("Tarkington dramatized...") I'll work on those too. BuzzWeiser196 (talk) 12:46, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
- Ah I see, thanks for clarifying. I missed what/why you had title this discussion. Sounds good! Cerebral726 (talk) 14:00, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
- The "Tarkington as a Midwesterner" section included statements about his career that weren't directly tied to being a midwesterner. That seemed disorganized, so I've reorganized this article by creating a "Biography" section with subsections: Education, Career, Personal Life, Death and Legacy. Hopefully this gives us a more chronological approach. I have preserved a number of statements that are not supported by citations. These are tagged "citation needed."
