Full name in published source
[edit]In John Grant's A Directory Of Discarded Ideas, Ashgrove Press, 1981 (ISBN 0552990132), Bonnie's full name is given as "Bonnie Lu Trousdale Nettles" along with the comment that Marshall Herff Applewhite and Bonnie are (in 1981) "also known as Bo and Peep". Notable?
[edit]Is Bonnie Nettles actually notable on her own? As far as I can tell there's nothing in this article that isn't covered in either Marshall Applewhite's article or the Heaven's Gate one (except her DOB). My reading of WP:BIO is that this article should be merged to one of the above. Anyone agree or disagree? -- Bobyllib (talk) 00:43, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
- That was my impression as well, I tagged it as non-notable. Perhaps someone will add some sourced info which points to her notability. Otherwise I might prod or nominate it for deletion. Wolfview (talk) 12:12, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
Yes Bonnie Nettles is notable, there is an interesting back story to how Heaven's Gate changed after she died and how Applewhite at first regected a leadership role in the organisation after her passing.

Date of Death
[edit]Does anybody know where the date of January 20th, 1985 for Bonnie Nettles's death came from? I have audio recordings that the group made in the eighties, and one of them is dated 2/23/1985, which is after the date of her death. According to the "Eyes on Glory" article in the New York Times which is in the second footnote, she died in the summer of 1985.
