Bobby Bethard is a World Champion Bodysurfer.

Our friend and neighbor Bobby Bethard, at age 72, won the 55 and older 2009 World Bodysurfing Championship. Those of you who know Bobby know that he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. A true Leucadian and an amazing waterman. At 72 he goes out every day, even on the biggest days, and kills it. Truly inspiring.

For those of you who are football fans you know him for his life in that sport. For me, a clueless non-sports guy, I have to admit I didn't even know what he did or who he was until later when my dad, a diehard Chargers fan, filled me in. I only knew Bobby as the guy you always wanted to stop and chat with in the water.
