Fothergill having Tiger's record for pinch hits in a season?
[edit]The assertion
Fothergill holds the Detroit Tigers team record for most hits in a season as a pinch-hitter with 19 in 1929.
annotated "citation needed", is questionable. From Gates Brown's Wikipedia page:
in the 1968 season, Brown hit for a .450 batting average, [as a pinch hitter]
The same page later states he appeared in 49 games as a pinch hitter, which would come to 22 hits in the 1968 season. However, I can't find definitive pinch-hitting stats for that year to back this up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:602:9700:A505:35BE:1E58:42E1:BC35 (talk) 02:30, 18 December 2017 (UTC)
