Breeding

Blue Throats aren't "easy to breed". They are, in fact, very difficult. They begin breeding at 10-12 yrs of age, and do breed readily, but, once they laid their eggs, (usually 2-4), they neglect them, forcing the breeder to take care of the eggs until they hatch. After they hatch in about 26 days, the chicks are hard to hand-feed, especially when very young. The babies fledge in about 3 months. Hydrazulu 16:03, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
