Renaming

[edit]

I propose renaming the article to Blockhouse, New York City. --24.185.7.68 (talk) 19:12, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see why. The blockhouses at Fort Wadsworth, Fort Tilden and elsewhere in NYC are less famous, but why create a new possibility of difficulty for no benefit? Jim.henderson (talk) 13:07, 26 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps a different title then. However, I can't imagine anyone searching for it under the present title. The Blockhouse and Central Park are not inherently tied one to another. Apart from being accidentally located in the park, there's no connection between the two. Besides, I imagine there to be numerous "Central Parks" in the world. Alternative suggestion could be Blockhouse, Manhattan? --Hatteras (talk) 03:37, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And where do your Web searches bring you? For me, Googling "Blockhouse, Manhattan" finds two in the Borough; this one and one on Governor's Island. To me, this result seems appropriate, not calling for repair by renaming one of the blockhouses. Jim.henderson (talk) 21:34, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Add measurements

[edit]

I am interested in the structural size of this building. Maybe someone with this information or ability to measure it could add the measurements? / Jay — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.103.199.226 (talk) 08:56, 10 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
