Name of mountains
[edit]What is the etymology of name "Black Mountain"? they are green on pictures... What is possibility, that name is connected with Serbian settlers from European region, known as "Crna Gora-Montenegro-Black Mountain"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.140.149.198 (talk) 23:21, 14 September 2018 (UTC)
Lede image
[edit]Where exactly are the Black Mountains in this image? Is that them on the left along the horizon? Is this a view from one of the Blacks? The Blacks have a fairly distinctive crest, and I don't see it in this image. Bms4880 (talk) 20:44, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
Environmental threats
[edit]I'm not a specialist in this area so hopefully someone with some knowledge could add some references to support these environmental statements (similarly on the Mount Mitchell article) please? For example the statement that "In some recent studies, individual Fraser fir trees which are resistant to the Adelgid have been found" should list those studies. The Balsam woolly adelgid article doesn't mention these studies and I would be very interested in reading them. Sdenny123 (talk) 03:12, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
