Historical character
[edit]Hello Reo kwon. Kindly check this interaction where the director has confirmed that they have taken the character of Bimbisara, though the story is fictional. This is more or less RRR situation. Fictional story using real characters. Thanks and regards -- Ab207 (talk) 14:58, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
- I did see that earlier. The director's words seem contradictory. His first sentence says there is no resemblance at all between Bimbisara's history and the film. In the next sentence, he says there are some similarities. Now combine that with Kalyan Ram's words. How do we interpret all of that? We won't have full clarity on that till the movie releases. Till then, we have to find a short-term workaround. Reo kwon (talk) 15:11, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
- Even the empire's name doesn't match with history. The film says 'Bimbisara of Trigartala Empire' while the historical Bimbisara ruled a differently-named kingdom. In light of all this, we should write something along these lines. "The film is a fictional story based on the ancient king Bimbisara". Reo kwon (talk) 15:17, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Reo kwon: Yeah, I've omitted all the references to Bimbisara's actual empire in the article. However, it's not accurate to call him a "fictional king" which means someone like Robert Baratheon or Bhallaladeva who is created from the scratch.
- Adding "fictional story based on the ancient king Bimbisara" should be fine, as per director's statements. -- Ab207 (talk) 17:04, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
