International Goals
[edit]Hello Giant, I would like to challenge your presumption that most of his goals were in "unofficial" matches. Matches that include nations that are not FIFA members but are members of one of the 6 confederations are still considered "official". The source you reference you cite is ran by just a couple of people and in itself unofficial, I will provide other sources that challenge that notion.
[1][2]Here are links from the BBC and Sky Sports referencing Gibraltar's match vs Slovakia as their international debut after they obtained UEFA membership (but prior to FIFA membership). [3]Here is an article from the IOC that list the top international goal scorers. Listed at 10th is Godfrey Chitalu who scored three goals against Zanzibar, a non-FIFA member. [4]Here is a page from the United States Soccer Federation's website that shows full caps awarded to players who debuted against Martinique and the likes, non-FIFA members but full members of CONCACAF.
I've listed journalistic articles, third party organizations, and first party orgs, which seems sufficient to conclude these matches do count. Not to mention all of the other international goalscorer pages on wikipedia that would need to be edited if you still insist. (Which I can list if you'd like, in case you want to threaten to ban them as well). If this receives no response, I'll go ahead and add the list back in. - This source (now broken) had them as unofficial. What reliable sources are you using to verify the stats you want to include? GiantSnowman 17:45, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
National Caps
[edit]I have been trying for months to get a page edited to show the correct stats for the Turks and Caicos footballer billy Forbes who by visiting the Turks and Caicos football teams Wikipedia page and it clearly shows he has played 26 times and scored 15 times and this can also be backed up by using the uk soccerway website. Every time I change the page to the correct stats it is changed back to the stats before I have changed them by a guy called giantsnowman. Can you please check out my stats are correct and once you have please will you change the page to the correct stats I put in. - The reference ([5]) used by every article about the matter says 20/7 caps/goals, which means anything on-wiki using that reference that says otherwise is wrong. I've fixed it in a couple of places but I might have missed a few. Primefac (talk) 15:37, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
- I have already pointed out https://www.national-football-teams.com/player/24995/Billy_Forbes.html multiple times to this IP, who is ignoring it for whatever reason. GiantSnowman 16:39, 24 March 2024 (UTC)
