Bill Jones (American football coach) → Bill Jones (American football coach, Indiana State) – avoid confusion with Bill Jones (American football coach, Notre Dame) Joeykai (talk) 14:14, 1 June 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. - Support per nomination. Appears to be an uncontroversial technical request. The entries for both men are stubs, thus the incomplete disambiguation Bill Jones (American football coach) should redirect to the Bill Jones#Sports dab page. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 15:46, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
- Comment Bill Jones (American football coach, Notre Dame) may not meet WP:NGRIDIRON, and should probably be deleted, making this moot. 162 etc. (talk) 16:10, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
- Suggest Bill Jones (Indiana State football coach) as more grammatical. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 17:07, 1 June 2024 (UTC)
- Comment. If consensus were to prefer the alternative form proposed above by Hameltion, I would replace my "support" vote with support for Bill Jones (American football coach) → Bill Jones (Indiana State football coach), paired with Bill Jones (American football coach, Notre Dame) → Bill Jones (Notre Dame football coach). —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 20:17, 1 June 2024 (UTC)

- Comment Note that disambiguation by DOB is usually preferred; Bill Jones (American football coach, born 1914) would be a more standard tag. 162 etc. (talk) 21:15, 2 June 2024 (UTC)
- Support alternative proposed by Roman Spinner. Normally I'd support YOB, but we don't have a YOB for the other one. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:18, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- The title of the other article is not part of the nomination. This article can, and should, use YOB. 162 etc. (talk) 20:00, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- No point using YOB for one and something else for the other. That's no disambiguation at all. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:58, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
- Sure it is. There's no requirement for consistency. Each article is disambiguated as best as possible, independently of the other. 162 etc. (talk) 16:01, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

- Support or Bill Jones (Indiana State football coach). Agree with desire for a disambiguator that is consistent with the other article that has no YOB available. In fact I'm not so sure YOBs are great in general; they're helpful for distinguishing topics of the 18th century from current ones, but in other cases, people would often be more familiar with other aspects of the context of a topic. — BarrelProof (talk) 18:38, 8 June 2024 (UTC)
