Two separate topics - UK + Sweden
[edit]The section Swedish research is unrelated to the topic of this page. The UK usage concerns the abilities of individual cyclists : in Sweden it relates to the safety of a given route or network of routes. Totally agreed. I was left thinking what on earth has this got to do with anything as I read it. The introduction reading to the Swedish bit reading "In addition" adds to the confusion. I will change that but, sadly, I have no idea how to set up a disambiguation page. Also someone should consider whether that Swedish concept is really notable. NOT ACCEPTED!!! I think room should be made for presentation and discussion of the different definition of the term Bikeability. It is fair enough to define bikeability as a persons' (primaraly aimed at children') ability to ride a bicycle in the traffic, but as you might be aware of, England seems to be the only place on the planet where this definition is applied. In most other places Bikeability is (in line with its sibling term 'walkability') understood as an indication of the urban fabric' (at different scales) ability to support and foster bicyclism as a mode of transport and mobility. The range of references I provided in my edit supports this view.
Blunt removal of significant amounts of content is simply not acceptable and not in accordance with the spirit of Wikipedia, not even if the original author disagrees and cannot see the matter other ways than his/her own.
If this a part of a marketing strategy in favor of https://bikeability.org.uk/ entirely, I think the editors of Wikipedia should be made aware.
Try Bikelability in schollar.google.com. You have to go far down the list to find references to individuals' ability to cycle.
By the way, I am not from Swende. I am Danish.

When founded?
[edit]https://www.gov.uk/government/case-studies/training-children-to-cycle-safely from DfT states it was started in 2007. Did some aspect change in 2017 but the name was the same? --FDent (talk) 17:19, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
