Why is a Bifacial Solar Cell a real improvement over one sided Solar Cells? What are the key applications? A short summary of this would be helpful.
Explorer 6
[edit]Didn't the explorer 6 from 1959 have bifacial solar pannels? https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Explorer_6_paddles_up.jpg Mirad1000 (talk) 05:38, 21 July 2022 (UTC)

Producers
[edit]Which companies PRODUCE Bifacial solar cells? Can we get a list - a simple list? The companies that produce bifacial solar cells include Hayakawa Denki Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha (nowadays Sharp Corporation), KVANT (All Union Scientific Research Institute of Energy Sources), and various other solar cell manufacturers. As of 2020, there are 184 producers of bifacial solar panels listed in the ENF Solar directory of solar companies, and according to the International Technology Roadmap for Photovoltaics, BSCs held a 20% share of the overall PV market. History, Present, and Future
[edit]What is the R&D history of Bifacial solar cells that led to the current array of research directions in PV? This article's history is (IMO) [pretty good, but IMO it seems to need a statement about current 'research direction' in BSCs. Challenges and research directions in BSCs, contrasted with other PV research, include: Optimal bifaciality, Light trapping techniques, Cell and module encapsulation, Performance modeling and prediction, Application-specific research, Cost reduction, and Standardization and certification.
