I question this bit When R&B group Color Me Badd released their huge hit, "I Wanna Sex You Up", in 1991, it generated controversy because the sample from "Tonight is the Night" hadn't been cleared; Wright soon took the band to court for royalties and was awarded 30% percent of royalties for the song.: usually it's the labels that own the copyright on the music, not the musicians. No, usually when you fight for royalties, it could also be for the person's benefit when they're writing the song. So because she wasn't fully credited by Color Me Badd and because they just looped it, Betty saw it as her opportunity to get the royalties for it. It's the same with James Brown. I think Betty owns her catalogue if that's the case but I'm not sure about that but there's a link that proves it. Just gotta read it. LOL BrothaTimothy 13:24, 9 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

making the band

[edit]

She was the woman Diddy hired to help Shannon with her vocals. In that episode she shows off her whistle abilities and explains to Shannon's amazment that this can be acheieved through practice in breath control. She also helps Aubrey to know that "she can sing".hahahahahah— Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.200.116.11 (talk)

Reliable source?

[edit]

it would appear the source for whistle reg. on this page is not very good. I know popdirt.com well, and that article was just a user comment written by some moron who thinks he knows everthing about music. The guy said that betty's d7 is higher than adam lopez's certified c8 note in the guiness book of world records! Betty's page deserves a more reliable source than this wacko's rant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.200.116.11 (talk)

Fair use rationale for Image:BettyWright.jpg

[edit]

Image:BettyWright.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:34, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Six octave range

[edit]

Wild claims of superhumanly wide vocal range are common, and usually baseless. Unless there's a proper secondary source, explicitly itemizing where (what recordings) the top and bottom notes of this claimed range are, and exactly what notes they are, I will delete the claim. Surely, she has a very wide vocal range, but six octaves is an extraorinary claim and requires proof — Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.68.134.1 (talk) 20:58, 4 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
