Updated Article
Hello, I did my best to update the Betty Parris page. However, it was difficult to find a lot of information about her since most of the sources I found all pretty much said the same thing. (I suppose that's how we know the information I found was accurate!) I added minor details to the her story as well as referencing from reliable sources. The sources that were cited were not cited well enough to NOT be plagiarism. Unfortunately, Betty does not have a lot of well-known history before the Salem Witch Trials but I tried to include relevant information about her dad. The same idea is presented for her afterlife of the trials. I added as much as I could about Betty herself without trying to get into another topic. I understand that we could mention more about the Salem Witch Trials but I figured someone could use the Salem Witch Trials as the source instead of using the Betty Parris page. Feel free to add any more information if you can find any! If you can get your hands on the book That Child, Betty Parris, the article has so much more potential! However, I found that there is only one book and it is locked away in the Concord Free Public Library in Massachusetts. Thanks for all of your hard work! This still needs lots of attention, however I added a cite to upham, and guess now that the lack of citation tag should be removed, but perhaps it needs to be replaced with a cleanup tag ? The 2 links to the tombstone though clearly not to be to this person's grave, b date of interred c 1648, might not be irrelevant. I am not removing both links yet, since it may be to her mother, and I am much more inclined to try to add more info on this family since they are important in this. The idea that her mother was still alive at the time is a very important fact here.
2 thoughts: 1) we could transfer this link to the Samuel Parris page, 2) we could expand this article enough to include it here with some value.

Appearances in Fiction
Why is there no mention of The Crucible?
- If you have verifiable information that can be reliably sourced with citations for each assertion you make, go ahead and add those claims to the article. If not, then the information does not belong in an encyclopedia. Cheers. N2e (talk) 20:49, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
Death
Is it known where she died and was buried? Did she still live with her father when he left Salem Village? If anyone knows about her life after the trials, it should be added, as it's rather important. 75.69.54.202 (talk) 23:40, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
"Betty Parris makes one of her earliest appearances..."
I added a {{citation needed}} tag to the "earliest appearances" part of the claim. The existing (primary) source (at the end of the sentence) is not one which discusses which works of fiction Betty Parris makes her earliest appearance in. Thus, Wikipedia should not claim this as it is not supported by a verifiable, reliable secondary source -- so the cn tag should remain. Otherwise it is merely original research or synthesis. Cheers. I have removed the offending phrase, but now it looks as if someone has purposely bombarded this article with CN tags just for fun in an attempt to either attack the article or the author or the editor. That is really sad. John5Russell3Finley (talk) 14:46, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
- The article needs more sources, as an example; the article claims that Samuel Parris' daughter in the narrative, Betty is renamed "Abigail.", but the only source listed is the work of fiction that where it is claimed to be done. What is the source that supports this statement, that is not the book in question? Per "material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether editors think it is true." JeepdaySock (AKA, Jeepday) 15:46, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Richard Tango
Today I restructured the intro and added a red link to Richard Tango, and will also try to add him to the template of requested articles etc. John5Russell3Finley (talk) 19:52, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
The Salem Witch Trials
This section is misnamed. It says almost nothing about the trials. I know that there is a separate articleon the subject but this section doesn't really say anything about the trials. It doesn't even contain aline saying something on the lines of "These accusations led to series of trials of people accused of witchcraft." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.192.191.229 (talk) 12:53, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
