"Plot"

I think we're somewhat missing the point with the "Plot" section. The book is a translation, not the original, on which there is already a detailed article; and the book is not simply a translation, but Christopher Tolkien's introduction, a translation, an extremely elaborate commentary, and Sellic Spell too. So any "Plot" section ought to contain summaries of all of those things; and even the actual summary of the translation ought to avoid repeating the contents of the Beowulf article (— all that need be said on that front is "There is a complete translation of Beowulf into modern English."), and should instead summarize what is notable about this translation, namely it is posthumous, by JRRT, with examples A, B, and C (reffed to page), and in prose that its translator found problematic.

In line with this, the lead similarly needs rewriting to focus on summarizing the contents of the article (though that should change), not some other article. Chiswick Chap (talk) 23:11, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
