Illinois distribution

[edit]

In clarifying Bell's exit from Illinois distribution based on facts from a recent Chicago Reader article, I removed a phrase stating that the Beer Industry Fair Dealing Act was written by Bill Wirtz, as I have found no confirmation of this. Wirtz authored a similar (but unrelated) act known as the Wine and Spirits Industry Fair Dealing Act in 1999, which was later struck down as unconstitutional. Also, according to the Reader, there's no "lapse period" and it's likely that the previous distributor will have a legal right to substantial compensation if Bell's tries to return to Illinois in "a year or five or ten" — or ever — so the previous statement that Bell's would return to Illinois after one year is just wishful thinking. To brew a brewery

[edit]

"Bell's Brewery, Inc. is a brewery located in Kalamazoo, Michigan and currently brewed in Comstock, Michigan."

How does one brew a brewery?

If you are talking about brewing something else in Comstock (perhaps a 'brew'?), it should be identified *within* the same sentence. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.81.200.92 (talk) 16:32, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not named for a pop song

[edit]

The article claimed that Two-hearted Ale was named for some obscure pop song. It is clearly named for the Two-Hearted River, which is also in Michigan and features on the bottle's packaging. The statement cites a source, but the source didn't say anything about the pop song or even Two-Hearted Ale; it's about Oberon. I deleted the claim. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.14.84.247 (talk) 15:01, 30 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

CATO reference

[edit]

The reference to Bell's being a an example corporate welfare isn't relevant to the availability section. It was removed for lack of relevance. ComradeScientist (talk) 01:09, 20 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
