Barren Island or Beeren Island?
[edit]Modern maps have Barren Island and not Beeren Island in Coeymans, New York. Coordinates are needed.--DThomsen8 (talk) 22:36, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Dthomsen8: The GNIS entry for "Barren Island" (now used as a ref in the article) shows Bereen Island as an alternate name, as does another island (Bear Island) that is a bit further upriver. However, the BGN decision card clears up any confusion, describing the modern Barren Island as the former southern boundary of Rensselaerswijck. I've added the coordinates. Hope this helps. - Yes, that helps me get the number of Category:New York articles missing geocoordinate data down. Curently 1,019 articles.--DThomsen8 (talk) 02:35, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
