Batanga is a remarkable web site worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia. It employs 75 professionals and has over 100 Fortune2000 advertisers. It's one of the fastest growing destinations for Hispanics in the US and is VC-funded.

It also is a pioneer in marketing to the New Generation Latino consumer segment by offering all of its content in a bi-lingual interface.

I'm one of the volunteers on 'new article patrol' to help in the speedy deletion of many new articles that don't belong on Wikipedia, but in my opinion this particular one wouldn't seem to qualify for speedy deletion. The article specifically asserts the website's importance, which would rule out speedy deletion. - Itsfullofstars 21:32, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I believe these pages should be related since this seems to be the spanish version of it.- Batanga ----

Page Cleanup

[edit]

Just removed the unquestionably promotional language fr/ the article. I made a point to note that although Batanga.com's target audience in the US, it's hosted in Spain. The first post on this discussion page resemble promotion for Batanga, and the reasoning of the person self-identifying as member of a 'new article patrol' seems dubious, though I'd be happy to read a reply! And I agree that Batanga.com ought to remain as an article. Tapered (talk) 06:15, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, duh!! Just noticed (finally) that the Offerings heading was, for practical purposes, a promotion for Batanga.com. So it was deleted, in toto. Also, nice of Mr. Urbina to talk up his enterprise in the discussion. Have to give him credit for not using a sock puppet. On the other hand this is an online reference manual, not a free promotion venue!
