- Comment: Including the image for ALT0 is important, because many readers won't know what the Polish flag looks like.
Created by Andrew J.Kurbiko (talk). Nominated by Buidhe (talk) at 13:06, 10 August 2020 (UTC).
ALT1 seems to be more on point. The main nomination is a bit too long and confusing, while ALT1 provides a clear and direct contrast. Might be good to include a map. The article itself seems to satisfy all the criteria. --Andrei (talk) 07:53, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
- Andrei, I appreciate the feedback but as you are the main creator of the article we need an uninvolved editor to review it. (t · c) buidhe 08:16, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
- Oh, I see. Thank you! --Andrei (talk) 18:24, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
- Comment if the image of Staszewski holding the flag is to be used, it should be more tightly cropped: there is a lot of visual noise in the image, and lots of random people. The focal elements needs to be clear at a glance. --Animalparty! (talk) 17:43, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
- Going to review this. VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 17:41, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- I am sorry, but the picture just is not fit to be featured; the cropped version still has too much noise.
- With a basic check of sources, his birthdate is already not in the source. Source number 2 looks more like a primary source. The march was banned on 9 October (a day later). What is reference number 14? Please fix all of the source issues.
- Copyedit is needed on this article.
- The first hook does not have its reference cite that specifically Bartosz made the flag.
- Merging discussion still in progress.
- @Buidhe: @Andrew J.Kurbiko: hope this helps. VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 18:05, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- User:Vincent60030: Thanks for your review.
- The birthdate was correctly cited when nominated [1] I'm not sure why some editor added it, despite WP:DOB and not being in the source. Now fixed again.
- Primary source is acceptable for what it's being used for.
- The article states that the decision was made on Monday, i.e. 8 October 2018[2], and that the march was scheduled for 13 October (5 days later).
- Ref 14 was fixed.
- Merging was done by Onel5969, now the tag has been removed.
- Hook edited to reflect source
- New image suggested (right) (t · c) buidhe 04:26, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for addressing the issues promptly, Buidhe. However, based on the source given, it was stated that a statement was given blah blah on Monday, 8 Oct. The article later stated that "a day later, the march was banned" so it's 9 October. Correct me if the translation was wrong and that I should AGF. And the new image is good! It should be within copyright policies as well for being originally drawn. VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 08:57, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- OK, I think you are right. I found another source which clearly states that the decision was 9 October, so I fixed it in the article. (t · c) buidhe 22:29, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- Nice! We're good to go now! ALT0 is preferred. VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 07:45, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
Film
[edit]The film doesn't look to meet WP:NFILM, but it could be merged here. (t · c) buidhe 12:28, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
Death threats
[edit]He was made an object of death threats due to this incident:
http://polskieradio24.pl/5/1222/Artykul/2558881,Wnioski-do-sadu-i-zatrzymania-po-zaklocaniu-Marszu-Powstania-Warszawskiego (see the photo).
His denial and the developments (including the investigations started) are quoted here:
In the last 24 hours I got an unimaginable amount of hate and death threats caused by the articles Do Rzeczy, Public TV owned by goverment , wPolityce and Gazetaplus. I keep reporting all comments that are death threats and other. At the moment there are two Police investigations against death threaths I have received. One case has just been been sent to the Court.
I think it is DUE to include this, taking into account BLP etc. of course. Death threats, being formally verified by police, are encyclopedic.
