Legimacy of the term
[edit]Before the American revolutio, there was no such thing as American citizenship. There was no United States of America. Before the so-called Philippine independence, there is no such thing as Filipino citizenship. Bangsamoro is a highly political term indeed BUT it's now accepted in all academic discussions. Go to the most prestigious universities and you can find the word. Cite your references and if your arguments have basis at all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by System787 (talk • contribs) 11:10, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
soon!

POV
[edit]This entry is highly suspicious and political. There is no Bangsamoro, but a tapestry of many small fiefdoms under local chieftains that were often in conflict with one another. The only documented historical political entity in Mindanao is the Sultanates of Sulu and Maguindanao. These chieftains were often under the protection of these larger political groupings. Kumingbintabet (talk) 05:23, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- I agree, this article sure contains a lot of POV statements and needs to be revised. This article seems to label our Filipino Muslim brothers as Moros, as in the Spanish period. Please do revise the POV materials.Kleomarlo (talk) 07:37, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- I agree, the "Bangsamoro" as FACT, does not exist. But a "Bangsamoro" as a concept does exist for some Filipino Muslims. This article though has been under constant attack by wiki-vandals making it a hotbed of socio-political opinionating (Ex. vandals would change the term Filipino Muslim into MORO, thus denying their Filipino citizenship altogether, even as they continue to enjoy the privileges of that status). If only to preserve this page as a recognition to the "Bangsamoro" as a concept or an idea, then I would keep it here. We cannot deny this. But then, if the page continues to be used by vandals for their political ends, then I agree, this must be deleted. Jjarivera (talk) 11:02, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- This article seriously lacks citation and highly suspect bordering on propaganda violating Wikipedia:Propaganda#SOAPBOX - 75.37.70.97 (talk) 07:12, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- I've removed the country infobox, which seems to imply that there is such an incorporated area called "Bangsamoro" when in fact, none does. We need a major overhaul for the article, if only to remove terms that push POV, non-verifiable, or can be considered WP:SOAPBOX altogether. Xeltran (talk) 08:29, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
- Added the speedy deletion criteria due to WP:PROPAGANDA, using WP:SELFPUBLISH sources, and being a duplicate to Moro people ΔΦΣ (talk) 00:38, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- Muslim Filipino is not directly translated to as Moro. The correct translation is Moro Filipino. Since a moro does not necessary have to be filipino muslim. Moro is simply another name for Muslim. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kuhitkuhit (talk • contribs) 01:08, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

Resistance
[edit]I reverted a Nuetral Point of View and corrected the resistance issue in the History section. The Moros resisted both the Spaniards and the United States. See Moro Rebellion for more information. They even resisted their own fellow Filipino people, that's a fact. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.104.193.60 (talk) 16:05, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
Merger proposal
[edit]In lieu of the speedy deletion being declined, I propose that Bangsamoro be merged and be redirected into Moro people since both terms refer to same people, and the topics covered (Extent & History) in Bangsamoro article already exists as a subset in the Moro people article. In addition, the content in the Bangsamoro article can easily be explained in the context of Moro people, and the Moro people article is of a reasonable size in which the merging of Bangsamoro will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. Besides, Moro term has been an accepted name for centuries, whereas, Bangsamoro is a neologism by comparison. In addition, both articles using WP:SELFPUBLISH sources require massive work, and focusing on one article would be beneficial. ΔΦΣ (talk) 01:14, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

- Support - Merge and redirect to Moro people as per WP:SOAP, WP:SELFPUBLISH, and WP:NEO, among others. Edit history shows POV-pushing of editors (e.g. furtherance of the idea of an already existing separate sub-state controlled by the Bangsamoro) who most likely want to make a content fork from the Moro people article. Xeltran (talk) 07:24, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose - I oppose such proposal for a merger, instead I suggest that this article be improved to emphasize that this is an article for the aspirational state, and for the domains of the Moros. Christian Mac Juane (talk) 07:23, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose - I agree with Christian Mac Juane. This article should focus on the proposed state, not the ethnic group. TDL (talk) 18:20, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
- There is already an article for that: Bangsamoro (political entity). -- P 1 9 9 ✉ 17:31, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
- Support - I agree with Xeltran. I think the article is about the same topic and putting two separate articles is redundant. I suggest the Moro people article should be the main article and a section should be allotted about Bangsamoro. - Kleomarlo (talk) 15:25, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
- Support merge. Totally agree with nomination argument. As for the proposed state, there is already an article for that: Bangsamoro (political entity). -- P 1 9 9 ✉ 17:31, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose - Bangsamoro is a political (independence) movement, Moro people is about an ethno-religious group.--Jondel (talk) 10:08, 14 December 2012 (UTC)

Moros are not indigenous people
[edit]Moros or Muslims are the people who follow the religion of Islam. An indigenous person of certain ethnicity can be converted into the religion of Islam which would make that person Muslim or Moro but it does not make the term Moro/Muslim indigenous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.205.217.0 (talk) 23:50, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
