Marucho Marukura
In the New Vestroia episode "Invasion Of The Vestals", Marucho introduces himself as Chouji Marukura. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.161.59.55 (talk) 17:24, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

Uh, this article says that the toys are based on the show, but this one says the best anime is based on the toys. I'm not sure which one is right, though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.53.97.50 (talk) 19:27, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

I'm mostly sure it's a packaged merchandising deal, so saying that one is based on the other is rather moot. 129.137.150.164 (talk) 12:06, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Toys came first, http://www.canada.com/edmontonjournal/columnists/story.html?id=3949f379-e9e2-4393-a4e7-2b545d45f90b&p=2
"Ronnen Harary, the CEO of Spin Master, built Bakugan out of the relatively simple idea of a marble that transforms into an action figure when rolled over a magnetic card. They designed a storyline, a history and a cast of characters, and made alliances in Japan."
Notice how after the toy was created they started making a storyline, etc.
http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2008/12/23/ap5855883.html
"For Toronto-based Spin Master, which launched Bakugan in Japan in 2006, Canada last year and the U.S. this year, ranking among holiday hits is a relief. Around this time last year, the company was contending with the recall of its popular holiday gift, Aqua Dots."
Oh so the toy was launched in 2006, funny because the anime series didn't start in Japan until Spring 2007. Game-Set-Match.
To defeat this whole "Show first, toy later" mentality, there is an article that dictates how the toy was pitched in New York, Spin Masters picked it up, asked SEGA Toys to handle Asian distribution and got Nelvana and TMS to create a TV Show, I'll look for the link later. And this show is a coproduction, Nelvana didn't license it, since they are coproducers on it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Takao52 (talk • contribs) 22:57, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Tags
I just randomly popped by this article and realized the article is written almost like a fan page, which too much importance put on minor aspects on the show, as well as a double of the article being written in the "External links" section? Anyway, I placed 3 tags on this article in the hopes it'll attract people who know more at the topic at hand to give it some cleanup. --Antoshi~! T | C 15:38, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yeesh, what a terribly written article. It looks like a pre-teen with poor spelling transcribed a Bakugan press release. Huge amounts of trivia about the TV characters, very little info about the game or even what a Bakugan is in the first place. - Frankie (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 19:13, 16 October 2008 (UTC).
User:TheFarix asked me to explain why I think this article needs more work. Here you go:
- From an outsider's point of view, it seems clear that the game is at least as relevant as the animé, and deserves more mention. Come on, the show is about kids playing a card game. Notice which results are higher at http://www.google.com/search?q=bakugan+battle+brawlers
- Farix defends the page by saying it's comparable to other pages about animé series. He's right. For example, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Dragon Ball also have big tags at the top about needed improvements.
- There are weird grammar errors ("He is very quick to temper") and the sentence structure is very stilted. I'm guessing a lot of the edits are from Japan, and I congratulate you on knowing a heck of a lot more English than I know Japanese, but still the text should be better.
- You have overly lengthy descriptions of the characters, and pretty much zero information about anything else. What is Pyrus, or "Haos Angelo", or "Ventus-attribute"? What does it mean to be a "battler"? Is it different from a "brawler"? And the biggie which I mentioned months ago: What is a Bakugan?
In short, try to think about this article from the point of view of the 99% of people who are not Bakugan animé otaku. - Frankie (talk) 22:04, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
- Here are a few corrections for you. First, the anime series is called Bakugan Battle Brawlers, however, the name of the game is called Bakugan. Since the article is name for the anime series, it will predominantly cover the anime series. There was a separate article on the game, Bakugan, originally at Bakugan (toys). However, there was so little information that could be supported using reliable sources and a general lack of reliable sources to support notability, it was merged here until a fuller article can be written. As for the quality of writing and detail of the plot and character sections, I had no hand in that. --Farix (Talk) 22:59, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

reality please?
The first scentence in this article sounds like it was written by either a fan or an advertiser. most of this article is written from a veiwpoint of the show being real. perhaps "about" instead of "based on"? "based on" usually implies a true story basis. also, a run through a grammar checker would help it's credibility. Sompm (talk) 00:39, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Keeping an eye on this article
There have been several attempts to insert game guide-like information, such as power ratings and ability cards, back into the article after it was cleaned up. So I'll be keeping an eye on this for a while. I like to remind everyone that Wikipeida is not a game guide. Also, the article should not list every single character that appears in the series. Only list the main characters that appear throughout the series. If the character section begins to grow too large, then a spin out should be considered while the main article covers the central characters. --Farix (Talk) 04:00, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Vestroia Worlds
Pyrus: You have to travel deep into the center of Vestroia to find the world of Pyrus. This planet constantly blazes with raging heat. most Bakugan would burn up under these conditions, but Pyrus Bakugan thrive on it. They get their power the heat and the flames. On the field , Pyrus Bakugan use this fire power to blast opponents with fiery attacks are fast, hot, and furious.
Ventus:. Ventus Bakugan get their power from the wind ant the air.In Vestroia ,they soar on the winds that blow on the surface of Ventus. Ventus Bakugan can attack with the power of a whirling tornadoe. Like a storm , they can strike quickly, without warning. Aquos: The planet of Aquos is covered in water. From space , the water looks calm and peaceful. But deep below the surface, Bakugan warriors battle and train. Aquos Bakugan can battle in any watery place the sea, a lake ,you name it .Like water, they can flow from one attack position to the next on the field. And like a stormy ocean, they can unleash a tidal wave of powr on their opponents.
Subterra: On top of the planet Subterra you will find rough, rocy plains, hills ,and mountains. Bellow Subterra Bakugan train above and below ground. This rugged world toughens them up. Subterra Bakugan have rock hard bodies. When they attack, they can smash opponents with the power of boulders. Their powerful attacks feel like eartquakes on the field.
Haos: You better put on some sun glasses if you go to the world of Haos. The bright light can hurt your eyes. The energy produced by this light is special. The planet is surrounded by a mystic aura that give Haos Bakugan their power. On the field, Haos Bakugan can control light and energy. They can blind their opponents with explosive power.
Darkus: Deep in the dark hemisphere of Vestroia you will find the world of Darkus . It will always be night and never day on the world of Darkus. The bakugan who live their get power from gloon and shadows. The darker it is, the stronger the Darkus Bakugan get, they say that the Darkus Bakugan also have dark hearts. They can be cruel on the feild, and cause ruthless destruction. many brawlers get nervous when they see a Darkus Bakugan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rayla890 (talk • contribs) 07:17, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

New Vestoria has no Japanese Release?
This goes to the planned 2010 sequel "Gundalian Invaders". I know it's actually good that the series gets an English release firsthand but I think it's kinda unfair to the Japanese fans to the series since New Vestoria and Gundalian Invaders are forever not gonna have a Japanese release, even though the animation studio behind the anime is TMS.
- Well, that's because New Vestroia wasn't exactly created by the Japanese creators, so one could consider it an "unofficial official sequel".
Oh, and correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't talk pages not supposed to be used as a forum? --DinoQueen13 (talk) 22:43, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
- Funny, I was going to post here to see some peoples opinions regarding how we should handle the pages when it airs. Anyways, the series is created in Japan and is still very much Japanese produced. The issue at hand is that it was released outside of Japan before an official decision to broadcast it locally there. Some information recently appeared, to which I added it to the "New Vestoria" page, that indicates that the series is planned for a Spring 2010 release in Japan on TV Tokyo, so it's atleast scheduled right now. On that note, the only real issue is how we handle some of the title, episode dates, and such on the episode list page, given the series was originally aired outside of Japan. Any ideas? Mendinso (talk) 14:40, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Most of what we already do should be done. (Ie we list the dub title first then the Japanese etc) I also belive that we should list the English dates first since even though this is a Japanaese produced series the English episodes were released first and therefore are still the original relaese dates regardless of where the show was made. In this case list them as Original and Japanse dates with perhaps a small note stating the the dub episoded aired first.--76.66.181.137 (talk) 20:31, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
- The JAPANESE version of NEW VESTROIA : Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia (爆丸バトルブローラーズ ニューヴェストロイア, Bakugan Batoru Burōrāzu Nyū Vesutoroia) is currently being on air in Indonesia, dubbed in Bahasa Indonesia of course, on Indosiar TV Station. I tried to add this info to the articles, but someone deleted it. WHY? 乱頭利 猫 (talk) 19:27, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

Fixed Error
Just to let everyone know, there was an error with the villans listed in section two in the article. They discluded Maskerade who is Hal-G's assistant. At first he was thought to be a boy, but later it was found that it was Alice and Hal-G was Alice's grandfather, Michale. I took the liberty of fixing that minor error.

Bakugan Dimensions - Wrong Information
Attention: To the author of this wiki page...
The Bakugan Dimensions information under Media>Gundalian Invaders is wrong. Currently, it states, "The third series will tie into the global online game project known as Bakugan Dimensions, (devolpled by Activision Blizzard), which will release for the Nintendo DS and Wii, Sony PlayStation, and Microsoft Xbox platforms sometime later in the Spring of 2010."
This information should be changed to:
"The third series of Bakugan, the Gundalian Invaders line, ties into the online game known as Bakugan Dimensions, which will release for the PC/Mac."
FYI: Bakugan Dimensions is not a console title. This is strictly an online PC/Mac game.

Meaning of "Bakugan"
As far as I know, Bakugan is the combination of "Exploding" and another word. "爆" is Japanese for "Explosion", which you can see in the Bakugan logos. Japanese-Canadian?
Could someone clear up what makes this Japanese-Canadian rather than Japanese? What involvement have Canadians had in this besides licensing it? CüRlyTüRkeyTalkContribs 23:23, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
- In the credits, Nelvana is listed one of the producers for the international version (both on Nelvana's copy and TMS's international copy). For whatever reason, it's missing on the Japanese credits, though the same thing happened with the latest Beyblade. Spin Master is also listed as a producer. I'll see if I can get a screenshot from the International master later. (Edit: Here's a shot from a rip of the R3 for Bakugan, which uses TMS's International version: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/Ikaanu/BakuganS1R3DVDCredit.jpg ) Mendinso (talk) 20:09, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
- But if it's only on the English versions, doesn't that just mean that Nelvana produced the translations/dubs? CüRlyTüRkeyTalkContribs 23:06, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
- No. To explain the credits you see, TMS has the habit of sending licensors modified masters, usually removing episode titles, opening credit information and what not. Usually the said credits are then moved to the ending sequence and are translated into english. The Chinese version, which this image was taken from, uses TMS's international master, as opposed to using the original japanese masters. As to why Nelvana and Spin Master are not credited in the original Japanese credits, I'm not sure. Then again, I also want to point out Sega Toys and Sega Corporation is also not credited in the original version too. Mendinso (talk) 14:37, 21 October 2011 (UTC)

Origin of series
In this edit, Norozco1 calls the series "Japanese-American", but provides no reference or context to explain that addition. I reverted the edit explaining, "Unclear from content how this is an American co-production. Lead lists two Japanese companies. Please source." Norozco1 undid my revision, writing, "This franchise was licensed by Nelvana, and was released in North America on Cartoon Network, So theres really no need for any of that." Norozco1, I think you are confused. We don't describe a movie/TV series/song/book's national origin by the nations that licensed or released it. Origin is determined by the companies that created the work. If the series was produced in Japan and/or funded by Japanese companies, the originating nation is Japan. The fact that the movie Top Gun may have been licensed for broadcast in China, doesn't make it an American-Chinese movie. The onus is on you to demonstrate with sources that the series is an American co-production, and until you do, the content doesn't belong in the article, or in any article that you've made similar changes to. Franchise development
I feel like a development section could be made given we have a decent understanding of how the series came to be: "Bakugan was acquired from an independent New York inventor, and Spin Master then developed it in conjunction with Sega, the Japanese electronics company." http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/09/business/media/09spin.html?_r=0
"Bakugan came to Spin in 2005, when a 26-year-old American illustrator handed over a sketch to an inventions broker based out of Los Angeles. It landed on the desk of Ben Dermer, Spin’s director of inventor relations, along with dozens of other pitches[...] Bakugan’s total global sales eventually hit $1 billion.[...]Dermer says those behind Bakugan—the original illustrator, plus the broker and an engineer they worked with briefly—have each made $10 million." http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/rob-magazine/how-spin-master-got-its-mojo-back/article22639332/
Spin Master also put out a mini-doc on their history with a segment on the development of the franchise: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxuO98TBWKY Shelly Goldberg's name is dropped, but a search shows that he was the broker, rather than the 26-year old illustrator from New York. Spin Master's CEO also drops a $12 million production budget for the first anime season.
Maybe use this section to take some of the weight off the summary? You could probably move the part about the property's initial Japanese failures and subsequent sequel seasons there. Damnedfan1234 (talk) 09:17, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

- Added archive https://web.archive.org/web/20111204113437/http://www.teletoon.com/teletoon3/teletoon.php?language=En&func=php to http://teletoon.com/teletoon3/teletoon.php?language=En&func=php
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}
).
