Other versions

[edit]
  • The show appears to have both UK and Australian versions. ([1][2][3][4][5][6]) These shows definitely need to be included in the article. The UK version might deserve its own article, too, but it would still need to be mentioned somewhere in this article.

Images

[edit]
  • The purpose of use for File:Baggagelogo.jpg contains "The image is used to identify the organization Baggage (game show), a subject of public interest." This seems like it's been copied verbatim from somewhere — "organization Baggage (game show)" doesn't make sense and "a subject of public interest" is incredibly vague.
  • I'd add somewhere in the rationale that the copyright for the logo is probably owned by Game Show Network.

Infobox

[edit]
  • The "Multi-camera setup" isn't expanded upon anywhere in the body of the article, and doesn't have a sourced. Unless this is mentioned somewhere in the show's credits, it needs to be explained or removed.
  • Same thing with the production companies: it might be worth mentioning them somewhere under ==Production==, especially when the production company changed.
  • Is the running time of 20—21 minutes for Baggage, Baggage on the Road or both?

Gameplay

[edit]
  • "Central character" is used ten times to describe the contestant standing in the middle; this seems repetitive and I'm not sure I like the phrase at all. Try replacing some of the usages with "player", "person" or "contestant".
  • "...three possible secrets are given about the central character's secret..." — confusing and seemingly untrue. I think three possible secrets about the central contestant, only one of which is the actual secret contained in their baggage is more concise and easier to understand.
  • "Springer reveals the second level of each baggage" — what? I think Springer reveals the second piece of baggage works better.
  • "The two remaining contestants, one at a time, are then asked questions about their personal lives" — is there a fixed number of questions here? How many questions do they usually ask each person? Also, just to clarify, is it Springer asking the questions or the central contestant?
  • Per this review ([7] - listed again under Reception), it appears the show has some themed episodes (the one mentioned in that link is "Cougar-themed"). Are these worth adding somewhere — are they one offs, quite frequent or did they only appear in certain seasons?
  • There were others (such as a bisexual episode), but they were rather uncommon; almost every episode I ever watched had little or no theme to it at all. To sum it up, I don't think it's necessary. --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 01:54, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Production

[edit]
  • Do we have any information about the Pilot or the show's pitch? Was the show mentioned anywhere before March 23, 2010?
  • "GSN renewed the show for a second season" — after, before or during the airing of the first season?
  • "August 16, 2010," — change the last comma to a full stop (period).
  • How long were the First Dates and Most Outrageous Moments specials?

Reception

[edit]
  • Do we have any ratings statistics for the second, third or fourth seasons? Is there any data on the pilot episode's viewing figures, or what the highest-rated episode was?
  • "Baggage also appeared in Entertainment Weekly" — what does "also" mean here? I'd put a "However" to show that this was the first positive review, rather than an "also".
  • These reviews seem relevant and should be summarised in the Reception section: [8][9]

Lead

[edit]
  • "for example, bad habits, strange relationship preferences, issues with one's past, and strange hobbies" — This isn't mentioned in the Gameplay section. I'd include the list in full in the Gameplay section and maybe one or two examples in the lead (e.g. "strange relationship preferences" and "issues with one's past").
  • Add a sentence summarising the Reception section (e.g. The show has received high ratings but mixed reviews).
  • "mixed reviews and critical reception" — this seems like a bit of a tautology. Use "reviews" or "critical reception", but not both, unless there's a significant difference between the two phrases that I don't understand.
  • "Similar to The Dating Game" — This isn't mentioned anyway else in the article and isn't sourced. It seems to be it border on original research.

Other

[edit]
  • GSN rarely gives press releases for cancellation. There's this, but again, it likely fails WP:BLOGS.
  • Reference 11 returns Error 404 for me (although this is possibly because I'm in the UK).
  • Reference 16 quotes a review by "Gabrielle Rice, Yahoo!". Can this review be included in the Reception section?

I'm placing the article  On hold. The only serious issue seems to be the lack of coverage of the UK and Australian versions of the show (meaning the article currently fails 3a). — Bilorv(talk)(c)(e) 18:53, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Bilorv: Thanks for taking this one; I'm rather busy right now but will try to address these as soon as I get a chance. Regarding 3a, how would you feel about me moving this page to Baggage (U.S. game show) and then creating another one for the international franchise (similar to Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (U.S. game show), Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (UK game show), etc.)? --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 19:17, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I personally think we don't need a franchise page for such a minor TV show. I think Baggage (game show) is okay as it is (similar to Pointless (game show), but a move to Baggage (U.S. game show) (alongside creation of Baggage (U.K. game show)) would be fine too. But I'm not sure how it would affect the GA review; this is a subpage of Baggage (game show). — Bilorv(talk)(c)(e) 20:02, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm leaning towards the two-article option here. Should I move the GA review page as well? --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 00:19, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, move this page too. — Bilorv(talk)(c)(e) 07:35, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for all the fixes so far. I've re-read the lead and added a couple more points above. — Bilorv(talk)(c)(e) 20:40, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Bilorv: No problem; I'll try to get the rest done ASAP (I'm not sure I can give an exact timetable for when it will be done, though). One last question; would you like me to move this page and create the British version's page before you pass this for GA? If so, it may take me a couple days more than if not. Thanks, --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 23:38, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Bentvfan54321: Yes, I think that would be best. Don't worry about making the British version's page very thorough (I can help expand it if you want), but it doesn't make sense to move this page to "(U.S. game show)" if there isn't a page on "(UK game show)". — Bilorv(talk)(c)(e) 09:35, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Bilorv: Alright, I'll try to at least get it started. --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 11:59, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I think everything is done except for the British article (I'll be working on it in my primary sandbox if you're interested). I'll see what I can do this weekend. Thanks again, --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 01:54, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Bilorv: Sorry for the delay; I had company over this afternoon and my internet has not been cooperating. Just letting you know that this is my top priority right now, and I'll try to finish it ASAP. Thanks, --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 02:07, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Bilorv: Alright, I think I'm finished now that the British version has its own article. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks, --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 20:23, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, just one more small thing. The Australian version deserves a quick mention in the Reception section. ([10] - oddly, this is the only source for the Australian show I can find) — Bilorv(talk)(c)(e) 21:29, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
 Done --Bentvfan54321 (talk) 21:38, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've made one final tiny edit. Pass for GA. — Bilorv(talk)(c)(e) 21:43, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
