Question

[edit]

My main question with this article is, if it is the legal successor of "Tallinna Kalev" team, who competed during Soviet times? If not, then do the other teams called "BC Kalev" need separate articles, because according to this article there have been three different Tallinn-based teams called "Kalev". -- Ilmarkullam (talk) 01:00, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The only thing I know is this team is the basketball section of the football team JK Tallinna Kalev. I only created this article for undoing a redirect link from this article to BC Kalev/Cramo. Gonzaka (talk) 06:56, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Keila / Tallinna Kalev

[edit]

Keila Basket is not linked to Tallinna Kalev, it needs a separate article. Keila basket is using Tallinna Kalev's licence in KML but is a separate club. Sildliis (talk) 11:23, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Licence (from 2024) is too small of a connection to take the history of another team. @Squad0273: @Tommi.1988: Pelmeen10 (talk) 17:51, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe this article shoud be about Tallinna Kalev and not have information about Keila Basket. It could just say that for the upcoming season Tallinna Kalev is giving it's licence to Keila Basket and might continue playing in future seasons. I currently have been blocked for trying to make these changes.. Sildliis (talk) 07:41, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This is a source where Peep Pahv explains the situation.

  • MTÜ Keila Basket ends their partnership with MTÜ Keila Korvpallikool
  • Keila got MTÜ Pirita Palliklubi's spot in Meistriliiga for 3 years, and NO other ties between them whatsoever. Pirita Palliklubi ran 2 teams: BC Tallinna Kalev and BC Pirita. They will continue to run BC Pirita (youth team) and plan to return to Meistriliiga after the 3 years. Keila Coolbet starts running their own youth teams and also plan to rise to the top division by themselves after these 3 years when they give back Pirita's spot (3year contract ends).
  • Tallinna Kalev simply does not exist any more. Pelmeen10 (talk) 18:40, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Then write a separate article. I fail to see why we can only have an article about one or the other. And a conflict of interest is not something you want. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 01:26, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I still fail to see why we can't have two articles, one about BC Tallinna Kalev and another about Keila Basket. Can you explain why you keep overwriting rather than creating a new article? - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 07:30, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I created the artcle. But, I'm not sure if Keila Basket should actually have the history of Keila KK article. Because they continued with the same squad/coaches, while Keila KK started from scratch. Pelmeen10 (talk) 10:54, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Pelmeen10: if two different teams/articles, then please correct bad redirects:
