Full name

Infobox Chinese
[edit]I do not know English, the phrase is translated by Google Translate. All the words in the name of "Nguyễn Phúc Bảo Thắng" are derived from Chinese. Chinese characters "阮福宝嶹" in the article "Bảo Thắng" Sino-Vietnamese reading is "Nguyễn Phúc Bảo Đảo", not "Nguyễn Phúc Bảo Thắng". "Đảo" 嶹 means "island". There are many Chinese characters that sound the same but with different meanings and many different writing but mean the same thing. There are many Chinese characters are pronounced "bảo" and "thắng". Can not arbitrarily replace them for each other. Hsumei (talk) 04:35, 22 November 2013 (UTC)
- I restored the Template:Infobox Chinese removed by Hsumei, here. He left the abaove message on my talk page and removed it again, so I restored it with the spelling used on the Chinese Bảo Thắng article. Richard-of-Earth (talk) 19:10, 22 November 2013 (UTC)
"阮福保陞" is not "Nguyễn Phúc Bảo Thắng". "陞" read by Sino-Vietnamese pronunciation is "Thăng". "Thăng" 陞 means "promoted". "Thắng" is "勝". It means "victorious". There are many character read as "bảo" but not the same meaning can not just replace a character in it. Vietnam's name originates from China not mean that they will write the name of the Vietnam accurate. There should be documentation of Vietnamese people indicate his name written in Chinese characters is what. If no, then do not add Chinese characters to. Vietnamese modern written in the chữ quốc ngữ, not written in the Chinese or chữ nôm. Hsumei (talk) 05:47, 23 November 2013 (UTC)

- I do not know why you are telling me about Nipponese Dog Calvero. However you have convinced me a citation is needed for how the name is represented in Chinese. I will just removed the box. In the future just say "Wrong spelling and uncited" in the edit summary for this sort of thing and people will not make a fuss. Richard-of-Earth (talk) 07:51, 23 November 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, User:Richard-of-Earth, just spotted this. User:Hsumei seems to be a good faith editor from vi.wp who has undone several cases of vandalism on en.wp by Wikipedia:Long-term abuse/Nipponese Dog Calvero and others. However I think it looks okay now, I will watchlist the article in case any more hassle occurs. Just letting you know, and thanks. In ictu oculi (talk) 10:27, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
