I am actually from China, therefore I can relate to what you said in the article. The article is written in a pretty neutral perspective with some reliable sources. Most of the sources are written by just books and articles that are published by either both Chinese speakers and English Speakers or Chinese speakers, which means that the sourced articles are most likely reviewed by one or more native speaker of the the language the article talks about. However, for the examples of the usages of the character "ba" is not complete, there is another form of the usage of "ba" is not included in the article. Also, the article mentioned that the function word "ba" is not grammatically correct when occurred with verbs that have no effect on the direct object. I don't think this is correct, I can give out example that satisfy this usage.
