Regarding page name
[edit]Page name should be changed to Ayodhya Airport Aryan Sahu 1.0 (talk) 18:58, 28 June 2021 (UTC)
Change the title of Faizabad Airport to Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport.
[edit]I have seen that the airport in Mumbai city was earlier named Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. And the government made some changes in it and added the word Maharaj in the year 2018. And now the name of this airport is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. And I have seen that on your Wikipedia also the word Maharaj has been added later in the title name. I am telling you this as an example. Please change the title name of Faizabad Airport to "Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport". Realtime99 (talk) 12:47, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Realtime99 The article titles will be set according to the Wikipedia's article title policy - which is the common name of the airport. -- DaxServer (talk) 13:35, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

time to change name from "Faizabad Airport" To "Ayodhya Airport"
[edit]its been a long time since the airport's name is changed, we can see at ground that the common name being used for the airport has been changed. to support my words, i would like to attract your attention towards some search results. here we will consider six names, Ayodhya international airport, Ayodhya airport, faizabad international airport, and faizabad airport. other names such as maryada purushottam sriram airport or maryada purushottam sriram international airport are not in race but even then i will provide there results too, to make competition fair. we will play 3 rounds
ROUND 1
so we will start from ayodhya airport, in google search it show around 2,560,000 results and in news section, which is considered as a reliable source in wikipedia, shows around 58,000 result, compared to faizabad airport, which shows much lower of only 1,490,000 results in "all" section which is around half of that of ayodhya's and when compared in "news" section it shows a huge difference with only 6490 results which is around 9 times lower. now we will consider the word "international" in both the names. so here "ayodhya airport" won the round 1
ROUND 2
So this time we will start with faizabad, there should be a fair competition ofcourse, so faizabad international airport has 1,150,000 results and in news section it has 3,940 results, which is much lower than ayodhya international airport, which has around 26000 results in "news" section. But there is a catch, when we search ayodhya international airport, in "all" section it shows only 786,000 results, which is lower than that of faizabad's, with a clear difference of 364,000. so here "faizabad international airport" won the round 2
ROUND 3
now its time to compare the official name, with these names mentioned above, so official name "maryada purushottam sriram international airport" has the least 7,340 results in "all" section and a joke in "news" section with only 119 results, so clearly it is out of race. now consider this name without "international" word fair competition :). so "maryada purushottam sriram airport" has 22,700 result is "all" section and a little less funny joke in "news" section with 315 results. so clearly this is also out of race. so here no one won the round 3
ROUND 4(only on public demand)
We will play one last round, round 4 between the winners of round 1 and round 2
so ayodhya airport has 2,560,000 results in "all" section compared to faizabad internaional airport with only, 1,150,000 results. In "news" section ayodhya airport has 58,000 results compared to faizabad international airport with only 3,940 results.
so the winner is, ........ ANY GUESSES??? yes you are right... AYODHYA AIRPORT.. everybody give a big round of applause to him.
jokes appart,
so now conclusion from my side, "Ayodhya Airport" is the clear winner here with almost Double Results in "All" section compared to other names and around 9 to 20 times more results in "news" section, with 58,000 results. So my vote goes to "ayodhya airport". we will try to make a consensus on this name here, and if i didn't get any counterpoints, then i will consider it as a "go ahead" sign. and change the name.thankyou Followbrocode (talk) 13:56, 18 August 2021 (UTC)

Request for Change the title name of Ayodhya Airport as Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport
[edit]Gov. has changed the name of Ayodhya Airport as Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in 2021. Govt. also issued official notification of name change of Ayodhya Airport. Now common people of Ayodhya district and even news channel and newspaper are using Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport as common name of this airport. That's why i am requesting you to change the title name of Ayodhya Airport as Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport. Thank you. Indiatimes2014 (talk) 04:23, 19 February 2022 (UTC)

Faizabad
[edit]The airport Wikipedia calls Ayodhya Airport was formerly called Faizabad airstrip. It is physically in southern Faizabad. When newspapers refer to it being in Ayodhya, they mean that it is in Ayodhya district (also known as Faizabad district. Of course, older sources use the name Faizabad because they were written before the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh renamed the district. It is not helpful to edit out Faizabad.-- Toddy1 (talk) 19:01, 23 February 2022 (UTC)
- Since we have Faizabad, it is necessary to mention it in my opinion. We can add a phrase like twin city of Ayodhya or something similar, reword it accordingly. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:53, 23 February 2022 (UTC)
Don't create confusions on Ayodhya and Faizabad
[edit]Sir, Govt. Of Uttar Pradesh has merged the Faizabad municipal corporation in Ayodhya Municipal corporation in the year 2017. after one year govt. also changed the name of Faizabad district and division as Ayodhya district and Ayodhya division in November 2018. After merging Faizabad in Ayodhya Municipal corporation, government has removed Faizabad name completely from every govt. departments, offices and institutions. Faizabad area comes under Ayodhya Municipal corporation. Now Ayodhya city covers the full area which comes under Ayodhya Municipal corporation. Therefore, no need to mention Faizabad anywhere in this Wikipedia page. Indiatimes2014 (talk) 20:32, 23 February 2022 (UTC)
- The names of the district and the division will not change without an 'RfC for move' here in Wikipedia. As for the Ayodhya Municipal corporation, it seems to be a somewhat different case. Since Faizabad is relevant here in Wikipedia, to balance it out, we can add a phrase (in italics) in the line → "In February 2021, the Government of India has approved the Uttar Pradesh government's proposal for an international airport in Ayodhya, located in the Faizabad region ". Something like that. Others can suggest better may be. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 07:56, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
{{Efn}}
could be a better one — DaxServer (t · c) 09:27, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
The government considers the entire area which is a part of Ayodhya Municipal Corporation as just one Ayodhya city. Let me explain you by giving an example, for example, if the government now writes the address of a government office located in Rikabganj in Faizabad city (now part of Ayodhya city) then it writes (Rikabganj, Ayodhya - 224001) as follows. Faizabad is not written there. Indiatimes2014 (talk) 09:36, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
I want to tell you sir that government not consider two cities since 2018. Government consider it as one and only Ayodhya city. That's why govt. has changed the railway station of Faizabad Junction as Ayodhya Cantt. I am from Ayodhya, i want to tell you that not a single person use Faizabad name as a city in this district. That's why it is now only one city - Ayodhya city. Indiatimes2014 (talk) 09:42, 24 February 2022 (UTC)- Here on Wikipedia we use reliable sources.

Please add International word in title name
[edit]Ayodhya International Airport is an under - construction international airport in Uttar Pradesh. Ayodhya International Airport is the common name of this airport. Please add International word in the title name of this Wikipedia page. Thank you Ayodhya-prayagraj (talk) 18:18, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
Please move this Wikipedia page from Ayodhya Airport to Ayodhya International Airport soon. Thank you Ayodhya-prayagraj (talk) 18:23, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
- It has not opened. When I look at what reliable news sources say, I can see that in current news stories, they often use "Ayodhya airport", for example:Financial Express, 10 Feb 2023 and Biltrax 31 Jan 2023, which both say that it is expected to open in June 2023.-- Toddy1 (talk) 20:18, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
- Or if the sources use a full name, it's "Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram Airport", without "International". —C.Fred (talk) 03:04, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
@Ayodhya-prayagraj: Please either (a) self-revert this edit introducing the word "international" into the so-called official name, or (b) provide citations to reliable sources that support the change of official name from "Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram Airport" to "Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport". The three citations for the so-called official name call it as follows:
- Maryada Purshottam Shri Ram Airport in Ayodhya[1]
- Maryada Purshotam Shriram Airport[2]
- 'Maryada Purushottam Shriram Airport' in Ayodhya[3]
It is not OK to park changed information against citations for existing information.-- Toddy1 (talk) 17:51, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
Google map is using this airport name as Ayodhya International Airport, not Ayodhya Airport. In February 2021, Central govt.approved UP govt's proposal for international airport in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Ayodhya-prayagraj (talk) 18:06, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
- So what. Wikipedia policy is that all material added to articles must be verifiable in a reliable, published source. Posting what you think ought to be the name, next to sources that say a different name is misleading.-- Toddy1 (talk) 20:25, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
- Oh, and Google Maps also says Faizabad Airport फ़ैज़ाबाद एअरपोर्ट. -- Toddy1 (talk) 22:43, 21 February 2023 (UTC)

Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport
[edit]Sir, the official as well as the common name of this airport is Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport. I think its right time to rename this Wikipedia page title name as Maryada Purushottam Shriram International Airport. Sir i have noticed that you have recently renamed the Allahabad (Prayagraj) Airport as Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Airport. If you can rename Allahabad Airport name then why not Ayodhya Airport ? Many people told you for renaming Ayodhya Airport as Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport but you didn't rename it till now. Requesting you for renaming the Ayodhya Airport name soon. Thank you Sir! Ayodhya-prayagraj (talk) 09:15, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Ayodhya-prayagraj: I'm looking at the sources cited in the article, and most of them call the airport "Ayodhya Airport". For the article to be moved (renamed), you would need to demonstrate that the common name used to refer to the airport is "Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport". —C.Fred (talk) 14:39, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
Sir, I am seeing a big difference between the words and actions of Wikipedia. You always talk about common names. But the common name of the airport which has been named after Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay is either Allahabad Airport or Prayagraj Airport. This shows how double standard you are. You have changed the name of Allahabad airport to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay which is not its common name but its official name. I am not against the name change of Allahabad Airport, I am supporting it. But I am also Supporting the name change of Ayodhya Airport as "Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport". @Arimaboss: If you want to change the article name, please use the process for a contested move, and provide evidence that explicitly supports your proposed name.-- Toddy1 (talk) 08:27, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
Please could anyone who thinks that the official name for the airport has the word "international" in it look at the previous discussion of this issue, which is archived at Talk:Ayodhya Airport/Archive 1#Please add International word in title name. Official name of the Airport
[edit]The very first line in this Article states that the airport has been officially named Maharishi Valmiki International Airport and contains a Reference Link to it as well. The header(title) of the article should therefore state this very name instead of Ayodhya International Airport, pretty much like how the title for the article on the airport in Mumbai is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport or the title for the airport in Kolkata is Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport or the private airport serving the town of Bellary (or new name Ballari) in Toranagallu in Karnataka is titled Jindal Vijayanagar Airport - the official name. The search result for anybody searching for Ayodhya Airport or Ayodhya International Airport could link to this article. 2001:4490:4C35:1244:D91E:FF68:7B6C:BC5E (talk) 23:34, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- Not how Wikipedia works. The article title is based on WP:COMMONNAME in English sources, and it is maintained throughout the article. For example, the common name is Germany, hence the article name, but the official name of the country is Bundesrepublik Deutschland. The common name/ article name may change when the new name is more commonly used in English sources. When such a thing is suspected, the proper way is to make a move request in the article talk page. The outcome of the discussion will decide whether the article should be moved to a new name or it should stay as it is. As of now it is 'Ayodhya International Airport', adn should be maintained in this article as well as any linked article per our guidelines and policies (WP:COMMONNAME) - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:07, 5 January 2024 (UTC)
