Common name in taxobox
[edit]What is your source for declaring the common name "Gray mangrove"[1] to be more common than the common name "White mangrove?"[2] This is, of course, the problem with a requirement to use common names in taxoboxes as we've said too many times on WikiProject Plants. Please cite your source for which common name is the most common. Thank you. KP Botany 05:25, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Also, why didn't you enter it "Gray mangrove" as it says on the taxobox usage page, the very next sentence? KP Botany 05:27, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Arabian geography
[edit]Hi, Spencer you reverted my edit (middle east) without actually checking wether it was really "unconstructive" as it apperared to you. Avicenna marina marina is a plant the grows in sabkahs in the Persian Gulf regions of the Middle East as well as in sapkahs in other regions in Oman, Yemen and Saudia Arabia as well as Egypt. I don't see a point why the middle east should be omitted, while avicenna marina is the Middle East's only mangrove, adapted to high temperatures and high sea water salinity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.176.26.169 (talk) 01:40, 3 January 2009 (UTC) Changed middle east to Southwest Asia and added some references and a picture from Sinai (Ras Mohd.). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.176.26.169 (talk) 02:32, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
- Actually the edits were interesting as the plant is greatly researched in that area. I would like to add some scientific resources from the Arab and Persian investigations, and put your geography down to one resource from there, but when I find time. I edited a bit, and changed a word or two. It should be fine as is. Thanks for contributing to Wikiepdia. --KP Botany (talk) 02:41, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
