Lead The lead seems to be the only place where the incident's inclusion in Six Crises is referenced. If it's important enough to be in the list, it should be added in the main article body (probably as part of Significance, unless I missed it's mention).

Context - Is there a reason that "Nixon, himself, says he was uninterested in taking the trip." is in the present tense?

General comment on layout - Would it be better to have the tour intro as part of the context section, and then make the Venezuela part of the tour start with a level two heading, since the article is about an incident during the Venezuelan section in general?

Attack - In the third paragraph, you use the phrase "follow car". Would "following car" be more appropriate there?

There's a couple instances of overlinking, Vernon Walters stood out to me, there may be others.

In the caption of the car with shattered window glass, you suggest where the image may have been taken. A citation for this conjecture should be provided to avoid the impression of OR

  • This caption was added recently by another editor, but appeared to me as a disclaimer, so the reader doesn’t assume the photo was taken in the immediate aftermath when this isn’t confirmed either. For the sake of simplicity, I’ve removed that part. Also cleaned up other captions. Kingsif (talk) 16:03, 26 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

References

  • Ref 1 should have a via parameter for newspapers.com, and probably a subscription required parameter as well (this is not one of newspaper.com's free clippings)
  • Ref 2 is a deadlink
  • Ref 3 needs the via parameter and the subscription required
  • Ref 4 same as above
  • Ref 8 same as above
  • Ref 10 same as above
  • Ref 12 needs an accessdate
  • Ref 14 takes me to a searchbar, not the applicable page. Also needs the via parameter
  • Question on ref 16: At the bottom of the page, it states that the page's content may not reflect the views of the ADST (the publishing organization). Did the ADST still have oversight over this piece, or is there not real editorial oversight of this page?
  • The use of YouTube is acceptable in this case, since it is to an official AP newsreel of the incident, it is published by the AP, and the video is the only way this content would be readily accessible.
  • Ref 21 is a deadlink
  • Ref 24 needs the via parameter and the subscription required parameter
  • Ref 27 same as above
  • Ref 29 same issue as Ref 14

I removed the external link, as it was already used as a citation.

@Kingsif: Review done, pinging nominator. Hog Farm (talk) 01:38, 25 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I’ve been stuck on mobile recently but should be able to get to this tomorrow! Kingsif (talk) 21:53, 25 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
