Status quo
[edit]I propose that this part, "and it is regularly ranked as the most expensive ZIP Code in the United States.[13][14][15]" is considered promotional and advertising and be removed. Similar words were removed from the Redwood Shores, California Wikipedia page. see:(https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Redwood_Shores,_California&action=history) for the edits. What was removed in Redwood Shores, California was, " In 2009, Forbes Magazine named Redwood Shores one of "America's Top-Selling Luxury Neighborhoods". The Redwood Shores ZIP code 94065 appeared on the 2015 Forbes list of America's most expensive ZIP codes, with a median home price of $1,612,971." This seems to be very similar to what appears in this article and I suggest that it be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikinotmyname (talk • contribs) 01:50, 3 August 2021 (UTC)
- I disagree. This is an important fact, cited by reliable sources. Beyond that, the home value in Atherton seems to be more than three times greater than in Redwood Shores. —Lights and freedom (talk ~ contribs) 20:59, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
- Please, trim the promotional content whenever you come across it. It is a popular filler for magazines articles but doesn't belong an encyclopedia. Also the lead is a summary of the article and not a place for unique content. Eager editors put it in the lead because it doesn't fit in any of the sections that are appropriate per the guidelines. Weird intro line
[edit]It seems weird to add the line "The town’s zoning regulations permit only one single-family home per acre, and prohibit sidewalks." in the immediate beginning. Either delete, or make a new section if there was significant controversy over those policies. Funginailuser (talk) 11:07, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
Racism?
[edit]“ About 73% of the city's inhabitants are ethnically non-Hispanic white; this makes it among the safest cities in Silicon Valley.”. Wow, just… wow. Anyone who can rewrite this part to make it less racist? 2A02:A44B:B975:0:A875:C9E0:6901:E46B (talk) 01:48, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- Just saw this too. Undid the most recent edit to the article. Stracci~909 18:38, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
