[edit]I added the expert template because I think the page should elaborate more on how compatibilities are computed in each case. Alex.g 10:53, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
The Criticism section is out of place. It is about Indian astrology in general, not astrological compatibility. At best, it should be moved to article on Indian astrology. This leaves the interesting question: Has anybody done a similar study on accuracy of astrological compatibility, as reflected in divorce rate? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Majvr (talk • contribs) 04:52, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
Irrelevance of so-called Millennium chart
[edit]This irrelevant chart raises a few questions:
(i) what has this got to do with the craft of Synastry? Compatibility comparisons are made between people. This is the kind of chart typically used in Mundane, Political, or even perhaps Horary Astrology. Only a skeptic such as a so-called 'logical rationalist' would contravene the principles of astrology by using an example which is completely out of context as an illustration;
(ii) since when did the Millennium begin in New York? The day, month, year, century, or for that matter millennia are all calculated for and begin at 12.00 am on the First of January at the International Date Line, (or for the purpose of reckoning by calendar, at Greenwich). I suspect this is possibly more deliberate contravention of astrological principles, again out of context and typical of someone ignorant of how astrology operates;
(iii) is the Wikipedian responsible for placing this chart of dubious merit in so many Astrology pages doing so in an attempt to mock astrology, or are they merely innocent of their misuse of technique, through lack of understanding of the correct methods to be employed if one is to arrive at a relevant chart?
I am not calling into question the accuracy or correctness of how the chart is drawn. For what it is, it represents the City of New York at that particular instant, but don't ask me what on Earth that represents! I am simply raising the question — what is it doing here? It has no apparent relevance – no argument from me about whether or not we are dealing in fruit, but isn't it a bit like comparing apples to oranges?
Diagrams aside, as for the literary content and its validity and WP:NPOV, don't even get me started Samsbanned (talk) 13:55, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
