Assyrians in the United States → Assyrian/Chaldean/Syriac-Americans — The people is officialy so referred to in the US census. —The TriZ (talk) 20:17, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
- Is that how they are likely to be looked up by our readers? I doubt it.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 02:23, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
Oppose really don't see the new title as effective. --Labattblueboy (talk) 20:30, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Move to American Assyrians
[edit]Hello I believe that "Assyrians in the United States" should be moved to American Assyrians, in sounds better and when a person is searching they are most likely to type the latter in because it is shorter and to the point. —Preceding unsigned comment added by HeyItsAlex (talk • contribs) 21:34, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
If you ask me the right way has to be Assyrian Americans, similar to German Americans, French Americans, Italian Americans, Arab Americans, Russian Americans and so on. Dollareuro (talk) 02:49, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
American Assyrians or Assyrians in the United States reads better than throwing in a whole host of names such as Assyrian/Chaldean/Syriac, which is convoluted and makes no sense. The theological difference between all these names can be explained later on if necessary. But Assyrian is both the oldest and most easily recognizable name, Syriac derived from it, and Chaldean is only very recent. All those should be mentioned of course, but to have them all lumped into the intro looks confusing and amateurish. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.100.25.101 (talk) 07:31, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

Assyrian/Chaldean/Syriac Americans → Assyrian Americans – This page was moved back in 2010 without any discussion. I propose the "Assyrian Americans" to keep it in line with other articles about Americans of foreign origin (like Mexican Americans. The main article about this people is titled "Assyrian people" (not to mention that "Assyrian/Chaldean/Syriac Americans" is certainly not the WP:COMMONNAME. Vanjagenije (talk) 22:18, 13 June 2016 (UTC)
- Support per nom. The current title is an abomination; a title shouldn't summarize the entire intro. Note the discussion above where there was no consensus for this title. — AjaxSmack 23:42, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

Widening the definition of Genocide?
[edit]Hello! The article says the the forst wave of Assyrian Americans were those who imigrated because of a genocide. I wonder that can we really wide the definition of Genocide therm as much as we want? For example can we define the Revival Process of the Bulgarian Communist Party as a genocide? Or any other massacre or forced deportation? By the way i found nothing about an assyrian genocide which to be recognised by United Nations or its Genocide convention. --Baris365 (talk) 12:58, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
