leaving msnbc
[edit]wasn't there some controversy about her leaving msnbc?
Well, maybe there was, but she definitely worked at MSNBC. I know because she reported for both MSNBC and NBC a couple of blocks away from the WTC on 9/11. It is remarkable that this article doesn't even mention that she was one of the few network reporters there, on the ground, when the towers fell.
Even if she has been "embraced" by the truthers because of the things she said regarding WTC 7, that's no reason to ignore her coverage of the events of that day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeGCusfqF8c&feature=related — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.211.27.5 (talk) 06:07, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

Fired From NBC Citation
[edit]There are two lines that assert that Banfield was fired from NBC in 2004 for comments regarding Iraq war coverage. But the citations are to a 2003 NYT article. "Ashleigh Banfield's Career No Longer Seems to Shine as Bright". I don't think a 2003 article is a reliable source for events alleged to have occurred in the following year. - It's not a source for the info at all. With it, we can only say—if anything—that msnbc lowered her job profile and (maybe, and this would be pushing the source's bounds) that her contract was allowed to run out.
- For that matter, where did WP editors get her middle name from, if not thin air? She's still alive—we need harder proof. --an odd name 18:12, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

This information on Banfield seems out of date. There should be some perspective on the fact that, early in the Iraq War she was being viewed as a serious journalist. But of late, she appears to have veered to the infotainment arena. It appears that since moving to CourtTV, Banfield has returned to news reading instead of reporting. Last night she appeared on the channel's gossip show. This is a notable change. 75.36.216.184 16:00, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Why wasn't the female outside the school who saw the shooter and ran back into the school thru the door that was ajar - shut and secure the door do the shooter could not enter????? The more about I hear about her going back inside and the shooter entering thru the same door sticks in my craw. Could this all been prevented if she had shut and secured that door? Thank you 71.229.33.68 (talk) 03:10, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
Is she an attorney?
[edit]There's nothing in this writeup about her attending law school, and none of the other places I've looked have any references to it, but I figured, given how she's been covering lots of legal issues, I'd double check.
Thanks
