[edit]This is my first wiki post, so please don't hate me if it's wrong! Can anyone verify the veracity of this article? I see that the only reference on here is IMDB, which is not a reliable source of information (especially as it has been stated that Ashleigh wrote the IMDB page herself). Also, as Ashleigh was born 'Ashleigh Rogers', the details of her parentage are questionable. Duncarsesmate 18:24, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Removed gossip/speculation about this persons death
[edit]Removed remarks that are sourced from isthishapening on a typepad page. Not only is this a completely non-referenceable site, but adding the notice that it's 'questionable' automatically means that it cannot be included. feel free to discuss the various official references in here, but please, lets leave the gossip on the celebrity-gossip sites.Lightertack (talk) 11:08, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
Removed gossip/speculation about this persons death - part 2
[edit]Removed content about this person's death for a second time. Please do not post such material without reference to a credible source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.13.119.140 (talk) 05:41, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- While it's also not always reliable, the IMDB also lists her as having died of a Heroin overdose. Ben W Bell talk 05:44, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
Hardly a reliable source - anyone can add information to IMDB. Reliable sources are respected media institutions, not blogs or open source websites. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.13.109.207 (talk) 15:31, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- Actually not anyone can add anything to IMDB, all items on IMDB are submitted for suggestion and most items are only added upon research by staff, not users. The average user cannot change anything on IMDB, only add to the forums. But as I said it's not always reliable and I can find no news articles or obituaries for her in any newspapers. Ben W Bell talk 16:11, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
The content has been changed back again with no references. Leave it up if you wish - nobody will believe it until a reliable reference (respectable media) has been cited. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.64.69.220 (talk) 02:07, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- Don't have any citation yet, but FYI, FindAGrave has the same info. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=23526453 Kweston (talk) 15:29, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
- I provided a source back in May that stated she did in fact die of a heroin overdose. Since someone kept changing it, so I looked at the source for a second time today and its been updated. Evidently, Moore's brother contacted the writer and said the heroin overdose is a rumor and she actually died of pneumonia and bronchitis. I'm not sure which is actually true since initial reports can be false, but I've change the content to reflect what the only reliable source I could find states. Pinkadelica Say it... 02:15, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
- With all due respect to the actress, her brother can hardly be considered a reliable source. And it doesn't seem that the source provided was even sure that it was Moore's brother that got in contact. If I was him, I sure wouldn't want it thought that my sister had died from illegal drug use. I'm not going to change it at the moment, but her brother (if it was indeed her brother) saying it wasn't a heroin overdose is not good enough to confirm that. The source in question looks a bit questionable anyway and it does seem to be the only one saying it wasn't heroin. I looked for something better, but since Moore was not in the public eye when she died, reliable sources are hard to come by. Sky83 (talk) 10:15, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
It has been 8 years since this discussion thread and there are many citations now that indicate she died of an accidental heroin overdose.[1][2][3] The article has been edited today to reflect this and includes the "quote". Feel free to further discuss here, if needed. Jooojay (talk) 06:36, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

Sadly, Ashleigh died in 2007—at the age of 26—allegedly from an accidental heroin overdose.
Ongoing vandalism
[edit]This page gets a lot of edits to her name at birth, her place of birth, as well as her cause of death. However nobody is adding citations of discussing these changes on the talk page. Please refrain from deleting existing citations and facts, and replacing them with un-cited new information. Jooojay (talk) 04:05, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
- Again more vandalism around her cause of death, but this time the editor took the time to modify the citations to reflect their unsourced statements. This appears to be all the same editor with bouncing IPs and various editing accounts, since the notes and changes are all exactly the same. May need to place a protection on this article in the future. Jooojay (talk) 19:13, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- A new type of ongoing vandalism (since approx July 2018 until now) by bouncing IPs involving adding in fake movies (without citations) to her Filmography like "Happy Feet", "Chinstrap Penguin" or "Spud's Feet". Jooojay (talk) 19:49, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
- This time an IP address editor adding "her family's wishes" to change Ashleigh Aston Moore's type of death to "pneumonia and bronchitis" without any RS citations or talk page discussion. Jooojay (talk) 07:53, 13 February 2020 (UTC)

This appears to be a constant issue still. PigeonChickenFish (talk) 00:28, 30 December 2022 (UTC)

Birthdate
[edit]I just saw that @Jooojay: reverted my edit regarding Moore's birthdate, claiming the source does not support the date, when it in fact does. This wasn't vandalism. Reference 1 (Lentz), which was already cited in the article, explicitly states that she was born November 13, 1981. There is no sufficient source for September 30 aside from IMDb, which doesn't qualify as a reliable source. What reliable sources are there that support September 30 as her birthdate? --Drown Soda (talk) 06:34, 21 August 2019 (UTC)
- Hi! I reverted your edit because when I go to the referenced source (Lentz, 2007) it only shows a date of death. Can you find any evidence of a WP:RS for the date of birth? Jooojay (talk) 06:41, 21 August 2019 (UTC)
- I am sorry, I see the date of birth now in the Lentz citation - I somehow missed it earlier. I will revert my change. Jooojay (talk) 06:43, 21 August 2019 (UTC)
Liesss
[edit]You should REALLY stop writing lies about how people die- she did NOT pass away from a drug overdose it’s well known to have been pneumonia and bronchitis. Dicks 96.90.107.174 (talk) 08:20, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not arguing one way or the other, but if it is "well known" that her death was from pneumonia, it should be possible to find reliable published sources to back up that statement. Joyous! Noise! 16:45, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
- There are many sources to back this up. 50.46.55.81 (talk) 15:13, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
- Then please share these many sources on the talk page so we can all discuss this. PigeonChickenFish (talk) 05:22, 17 May 2024 (UTC)

Ashleigh's husband
[edit]I am reading a piece that was written by Ashleigh's friend in Canada when she was older and it mentions Ashleigh's husband. Shouldn't that be information that should be added to her wiki page? I don't see much information about him or when they got married. 174.171.132.68 (talk) 22:48, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- We use reliable sources to create content here, see WP:RS. A blog or article by someone’s friend most likely is not a reliable source. 01:45, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
Death
[edit]Why was her death never updated? There are many sources that state she actually died of pneumonia not accidental overdose 50.46.55.81 (talk) 15:12, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
- Because nobody has provided a single reliable source yet re: the claim of pneumonia, please see WP:RS. However we do have multiple citations to support an accidental overdose. PigeonChickenFish (talk) 05:24, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
