This Page Requires Some Serious Updates
[edit]Almost every one in India trace their ancestry to an ancient Rishi. This is not mythology but history, something real. Every family has a different lineage from a Rishi. Arundhati (Wife of an important rishi) is a very important person in such lineage, and this article is wrongly classified as mythology. Unfortunately, many Indian history books (like the Mahabharatha which is the story of probably the first ever world war) are classified as myths and mythology. It is sad to see a page on Arundhati going to a disambiguation page that talks of far less important and fleeting concepts borrowing that original name ! Every one in India following the Sanathana Dharma (popularly called as Hinduism) is shown a star that is named after that famous person Arundhati at the time of marriage ! Inspite of the fact that Wikipedia is such a great source of information, this article clearly demonstrates the fact that Wikipedia is a total failure in bringing to the world knowledge from ancient India. Perhaps, there are few that have the knowledge and inclination to update information in pages like this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.242.187.140 (talk) 14:40, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
- The article has been aptly renamed, along with the appropriate changes to the disambiguation page. Use of words like "mythology" and "mythological" for characters in Ramayana and Mahabharata is pejorative, especially when the two texts are classified as "Itihaasa" in Sanatana Dharma. Facts are not consistent
[edit]In the article on Pathanjali it is mentioned that Arundhati is the daughter of Atri and Anusuya meaning she is the sister of Pathanjali. But in this article it is mentioned that Arundhati is the daughter of Pathanjali.(SaRaV 13:41, 8 June 2008 (UTC))
