[edit]Does anyone know anything about the circumstances of his death?
Cockatoo
[edit]I suspect that much of the article was written by an American, or somebody unfamiliar with Australian slang. Stace was a lookout or "cockatoo" for two-up schools - he certainly didn't act as an informer for the police! --Jumbo 05:50, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
DVD Link
[edit]Added a link for the DVD. Not directly available outside Australia but this link will redirect to overseas distribution sites.--tobalwin 15:15, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
Homeless?
[edit]As the article says Stace lived at Bulwarra Road, Pyrmont, perhaps someone could clarify in what way Stace was 'homeless' as the first paragraph now says. Alpheus (talk) 08:10, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

House called "Eternity"?
[edit]Err, call me old-fashioned, but what possible importance does the photo of this Sydney house have to the Arthur Stace story? If I call my house "Idi Amin" can I add a picture of it to the Idi Amin article?? I propose to remove this unless someone can demonstrate its relevance. Dunks (talk) 12:57, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
- I agree. Should the picture from the Town Hall (File:SydneySights0006.jpg) then be moved to the top of the article? -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 13:20, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
Birth-date and place
[edit]@1.43.27.80:
The only wp:reliable source we have here at the Australian Dictionary of Biography (ADB) says Stace was born in Redfern, 1885. Other sources saying Balmain, 1884 are self published or similar sources and cannot be trusted as much as the ADB. Of course it is possible they are wrong, but on WP wp:verifiability is the rule. Therefore we have to go with what they say.
I have been looking for other birth-date sources, but can't find any reliable ones. Some news stories (SMH) mention his death-date but not his birth-date. A birth record search may be helpful to clear it up definitively. But we have to go with ADB for now. --220 of Borg 07:47, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
- I don't understand what the dispute is. The article says currently "born 1885 in Redfern" which is in line with the ADB entry. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 11:16, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Michael Bednarek: Thanks for chiming in. The IP editor was reverting it back to 1884 in Balmain. Also putting unsourced content on the Balmain page saying Stace was born there, where it doesn't belong. There shouldn't be any dispute, but they were refusing to acknowledge the ADB as likely the only reliable source on the page. They seem to have 'backed' off on that now. 220 of Borg 18:28, 23 December 2014 (UTC)
The picture of Arthur Stace's grave at the top of the page, clearly indicates that he died in 1967 aged 83, which means he was born in 1884. 203.196.41.161 (talk) 08:21, 30 November 2018 (UTC) Editrite!

Spelling of middle name
[edit]Arthur’s gravestone spells his middle name as Malcom, whereas the article spells it Malcolm.
Furthermore, his gravestone indicates his age at death to be 83, rather than 82, although I note that discrepancy has been mentioned here before.
I’d edit Malcolm myself but I’m sick of being banned from Wikipedia so I figured I’d just mention it here instead. 2406:3400:218:C7A0:E101:C030:B031:F29A (talk) 20:33, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
