New Wing
[edit]There are several pictures of the construction of the new wing, but there is no mention of it in the article. Someone should add that bit. . . . 23:27, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Connection to Art Institute of Chicago article
[edit]There is A LOT of overlap between this article and the article on the Art Institute of Chicago and I am curious as to why these two articles are separate. I am inclined to want to merge this article into the article on the Institute itself. The only argument that I see (at least so far) is that the building has historic landmark status, but I feel like we can address that sufficiently within the Institute article instead of in this separate article.
I also am confused about terming the whole complex as the "Art Institute of Chicago Building." In reality, there are many connected buildings and the Institute itself marks many of the buildings as separate on its maps. Does the Landmark status extend, say, to the new Modern Wing? If not, then I feel like this article should really just be about the Allerton Building (the original building built for the World's Columbian Exhibition).
Before doing any further major editing, I'd like to hear from others with your thoughts. Both this article and the main Art Institute article are in need of some major editing to (1) bring them up to date and (2) fill in some big holes. Mosfet007 (talk) 00:59, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
