I will be reviewing this page over the next day. Looking forward to working with you both again. Rollinginhisgrave (talk) 01:39, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Pinging User:TrademarkedTWOrantula, too, just in case. ---Another Believer (Talk) 01:41, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

[edit]

The writing style appears written by a fan, it needs to be rewritten in an encyclopedic voice. Detailed examples below.

I'm very sorry, I'm going to quickfail, as so much will need to be substantially rewritten, and even though it could be completed now, the rewrite will likely not immediately be the quality for review for GA. I'll still be here, when you think it's ready you can re-nominate and I'll get to it quickly. Rollinginhisgrave (talk) 03:07, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Prose

[edit]
  • Move slogan into infobox, text does not flow.
  • Can the mismatched tableware be reworded to something more general? It is overly detailed as it stands.
  • According to Willamette Week, the family-owned business used local ingredients including Painted Hills beef as well as Pearl Bakery brioche in the pan dolce with whipped honey butter, maple syrup, and seasonal fruit.: Attribution unnecessary for this content. Family-owned business should be separate from this content, perhaps in the lede, as no relationship is established between owners in lede currently. Was the maple syrup local? Were the fruit and honey butter? It appears the only local ingredients are the beef and brioche, only they should be described.
  • The menu also included breakfast sandwiches, omelettes, pancakes, coconut macaroons, other baked goods such as chocolate chip cookies, and coffee. reword, awkward language with other baked goods and coffee tacked on at end, long list overwhelming.
  • Menu does not flow, feels like dot points.
  • Summarise Rosie Siefert quote in prose.
  • Don't need attribution to Andy Kryza if it's been attributed to Thrillist as publisher
  • Jay Horton's quote should be summarised into prose, some bits attributed
  • As a whole, the article reads as breathless. It should be rewritten to reflect a more encyclopedic tone, hopefully addressing the issues presented above will contribute to this.
  • Following Arleta's closure, Karen Brooks of Portland Monthly called the restaurant a "beloved neighborhood anchor". -> After it closed, Karen Brooks of the Portland Monthly called Arleta

Content

[edit]
  • The menu section is overly detailed, it should be summarised/stricter notability. Section should be about what was served rather than listing some items on the menu.
  • The business was co-owned by Sarah and Nick Iannarone until December 2018, until their divorce in 2019. ??
  • From sources 9 and 10, it appears that there weren't "new owners", it was just Nick. Can we verify this?
  • A recommendation in a local newspaper as a good mothers day spot is too obscure to be included.
  • Runner up in a readers poll in a local magazine isn't notable
  • Again, 4th best Brunch in Portland according to a readers poll is too obscure to be described in this much detail. Perhaps summarised, with Willamette Week poll, as being considered by readers in local magazines one of the best brunch places? Worded better.
  • forty best brunches: too niche, summarise as recommendation or the like.
  • In source 10: "As the host of Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," Guy Fieri seems to be everywhere" undermines notability of visit, should be reworded to not give undue weight.

Source review

[edit]
  • [3] Not RS, submitted by "contributor"
  • Minor verification issues in menu section: Caesar salad appears to have had items as optional extras rather than coming with it

I will continue after article is rewritten.
