Contested deletion
[edit]This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --TOMTOM2012 (talk) 17:11, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
Ariel Cohen is widely recognized and respected expert in his academic field. I'm writing my thesis and he is one of only three experts Im citing extensively that doesn't have a Wikipedia page.
I would be happy to edit the article to make sure it adheres to all of the Wikipedia rules.
- The sooner the better then - currently the article is not cited to independent reliable secondary sources, which means there is little evidence that Cohen is notable enough for Wikipedia. Things that Coehen has written himself do not count towards his 'notability'. Sionk (talk) 20:16, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
Zionist and right-winger
[edit]Ariel Cohen is a Zionist who sympathizes with the Israeli blockade of Gaza and, using his conservative credential as an expert on Russia to equate ethnic Russians in Ukraine with Hamas. He also mocks Vladimir Putin by comparing him to the late Hugo Chavez and in this way expects to count on the support of the American public who have been fed a diet of anti-Chavez propaganda for years. - Completely agreed. Listening to Ariel Cohen on Echo of Moscow radio station right now http://new.radio.rambler.ru/radio/echo (I am a Jew myself, btw)
- Wow. A Zionist and anti-Putin, and condemns the invasion in Ukraine to boot. Seems like a good guy on the first blush. (0: I'll need to look up his articles. --CopperKettle 09:27, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

"Key Predictions"
[edit]We have a whole section that presents Cohen as a modern-day Nostradamus. However, every one of the four sources used to support Cohen's "key predictions" are commentaries written by Cohen himself and published by the conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation. There's a fifth source which is just an empty link [1]. I think we should remove this section, though I wouldn't be opposed to some of the material appearing elsewhere in the bio. -Darouet (talk) 19:39, 18 September 2019 (UTC)
