Name change
[edit]User:SNUGGUMS moved it from Ariana Grande filmography to Ariana Grande videography, saying it's "more accurate title". It's most definitely (currently) not more accurate. A videography can be found in a filmography, but a filmography can't be in a videography -- because not all film/TV shows are on video and videographies are usually for music video. The filmography table was added later, hence the name change to filmography. If that were to be removed, then it could accurately be called a videography. --Musdan77 (talk) 21:31, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
- On the contrary, videographies CAN contain filmographies. See Justin Timberlake videography, Michael Jackson videography, and Rihanna videography. Each of these are FL's that contain music videos as well as TV and film. "Videography" is defined by Oxford Dictionary as "The process or art of making video films", by Merriam-Webster as "the practice or art of recording images with a video camera", and by Dictionary.com as "the art or process of making films with a video camera". Given how TV and film are a form of video, it is suitable to have a videography page with both music videos AND film/TV. Snuggums (talk / edits) 21:46, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
- The definitions you gave are talking about video format. A lot (maybe most now) of TV and films are done in video, but actual film is celluloid, not video. But, since those videographies include filmographies then I won't debate it anymore, even though I still think it's wrong.
- [added comment] The videographies above are artists known mostly for music (more than acting), which is why their filmographies are in their videographies (rather than the other way around). And although Ariana started in acting, she has quickly become more known for her music. --Musdan77 (talk) 04:22, 13 September 2014 (UTC)
debut single
[edit]The article states, in the introduction, that "The Way" is the debut single; however Ariana's debut single is "Put Your Heart Up", can someone edit this, please? --188.135.197.238 (talk) 18:14, 12 October 2014 (UTC)
Infobox and proposed merge
[edit]There's a big problem with the infobox. The title says, "Ariana Grande video discography" -- because it's an Infobox artist discography template. ...I guess because there's not one for "videographies". And I propose merging the music video section with Ariana Grande discography, and moving the filmography back to the main bio page. There's just not enough here for an article. --Musdan77 (talk) 02:40, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

Lead image change
[edit]@Mirrored7: Here we go again. I believe File:Ariana Grande (33269922295) (cropped) (cropped).jpg should be used instead of File:Sweetener Tour Ariana Grande O2 Arena.jpg for the same reason that we discussed before at Talk:Ariana Grande discography. The latter image is much darker and lower quality than then former image. The former has a brighter and more natural tone, not to say, it is higher resolution, the former is over 1mb whereas the latter (and darker one) is only 156kb. I invite any other users who are interested to please participate in this decision-making (or suggest alternative images to utilize) so that we may resolve this promptly. Thank you.
