No. AT this page is now, someone wanting a particular place in Germany can call his browser's search-within-page function to find it. Not if he has to ferret through several pages. Anthony Appleyard05:56, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
he can 1) go to the page of that place instead, or if article is splitted 2) go to the page of that area-code-region, determined by first digit. No need to go to several pages. NoGringo01:56, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes If it isn't split, than it at least needs to be cleaned up. Calling rates are not encyclopedic. Also, the reasons given above to not split violate policy, see WP:NOT#DIRECTORY. This page is not here to help you find a phone number. --Holderca116:25, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
NoThis page is not here to help you find a phone number. Why not? The aim of an Encyclopedia is t ogive informations and area codes are often vital infos.--Tresckow10:05, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No. There's a difference between a directory (comprehensive listings) and information about a directory (ie, area codes, organization of the directory). This pages is unlikely to be read or browsed; search function should be maintained.VaLynn14:35, 25 December 2006 (UTC)VaLynn[reply]
Split or Delete This article contains a messy, overly large and frankly (in my opinion, as goes with all of this message) very boring and uninteresting article. I do not think anyone would independantly search for this article, and, even if they did, who would actually be interested enough to read it? Wikipedia is not a directory or a phonebook, it is an encyclopedia. In truth, I think the article should be deleted. While it is true someone would have put in many hard hours of work into this, it simply does not meet many of wikipedias policies, including the MoS or the aforementioned WP:NOT#DIRECTORY. Personally, I think deletion is the best move, but if this will not happen, then at least split it up. ---ÅñôñÿMôúsDîššíd3nt06:39, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Delete the entire list and add a link to the German language article which presumably has a more up to date version of the list Ehrenkater (talk) 16:16, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Split The information in the article is useful, but at 150+ KB it is not functional. It should be split into pages such as "Area codes in Germany:Dresden(035)" and "Area codes in Germany:Thüringen(036)" with proper links placed at the top. EmanWilm (talk) 13:17, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I do not think anyone would independantly search for this article, and, even if they did, who would actually be interested enough to read it? - Actually that's exactly how I came to be reading this page! It details the system used for codes, and it is helpful/interesting to read through all the codes and look for patterns etc. I find it fascinating - please keep this all on one page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.97.201.20 (talk) 13:01, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there, the language link to the German WP entry is wrong. It links to the historical area codes, whereas the correct page link should be to the entry for current German area codes here https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telefonvorwahl_(Deutschland). However, when I try to save this change in the Wikidata site links, I get an error message that
"The link dewiki:Telefonvorwahl (Deutschland) is already used by Item Q62693." How do I fix this? Cheers, Not Sure (talk) 18:53, 18 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
