Appledore railway station (Kent)Appledore railway station – There is only one "Appledore" you have been able to catch a train to in the last 100 years, and the sign at the station says "Appledore". I appreciate formal documentation says "Appledore (Kent)" (in which case, shouldn't this be "Appledore (Kent) railway station"?) but as far as a primary topic goes, it's this one that people are far more likely to look for. A google search for "appledore station" brings back hits for this one in the first three pages. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 21:32, 2 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. Nom makes a reasonable case for this being the primary topic. Appledore railway station (Devon) existed for less than nine years over a century ago, whereas the one in Kent is still in use and has been open for nearly 170 years. PC78 (talk) 06:42, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • The issue with regard to the naming and titling when National Rail puts the name in brackets was debated at RFC in 2017. A point was made here[1] by User:Amakuru that when a name appears in brackets its only part of the name if it appears on signs at the station its self rather than just on the National Rail website. From signs that I can see they omit the "(Kent)" from the name but National Rail does indeed still use it and I find it hard to believe it would actually need disambiguation today so I'd take that as an indication that the "(Kent)" is part of the name but I'm not sure. • Support - seems reasonable. As Crouch says, we don't generally put disambiguators in the middle of station title names any more, per WP:UKSTATIONDAB guideline. But in this case the disambig isn't needed at all as it's a PTOPIC. Cheers  — Amakuru (talk) 10:45, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support as primary topic. A hatnote is fine for the Devon one. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:51, 9 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
