Cruz
[edit]Thanks Fuzheado and Nauseous Man for your edits following up on my revert. The HuffPost source makes clear the relevance of Cruz's nonsensical racism, in that it has (perhaps) had an effect on the book's level of recognition and sales. I do fear that the current text may still overstate the connection between the book and critical race theory (an academic field originating in the law—quite far beyond the scope of a children's book), and the confidence with which we can assert that Cruz was the reason for high sales. HuffPost say It’s not clear if “Antiracist Baby” was already enjoying such astoundingly high sales before Cruz’s rant
and the headline even sews doubt, with "Ted Cruz May Have Just Boosted Sales ..." (emphasis mine). We currently say that there was "a sudden increase in sales", which has no source. — Bilorv (talk) 20:38, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
- Bilorv yeah those are excellent points. I'm happy for the text to be reworded in any manner of ways, but I think for many people this will be the first time they've heard of the book so I think that it may be useful to keep in. Nauseous Man (talk) 21:59, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
