Temperature conversion
[edit]The temperature conversion is wrong. If it is 5 degrees F is -15 degrees C. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.38.155.233 (talk) 14:44, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Map
[edit]The map, nice as it is, is very confusing; as far as I can see it does not illustrate the subject at all. Am I wrong? -- Jao (talk) 11:30, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- It was fixed on March 5, thanks to User:Apcbg. —JAO • T • C 16:09, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
"Natural" boundary
[edit]I don't particularly like the statement in the article that
- This line, like the Arctic tree line, is a natural boundary rather than an artificial one, like a line of latitude.
The Arctic tree line is a biological boundary, and difficult to define as a distinction between shrubs and trees has to be made: the Antarctic Convergence is hydrological, and perhaps best compared to watersheds or the tropical convergence phenomenon: it's not like the tree line, where trees will gradually give way to shrubs and then the last few straggling trees will disappear. 46.114.153.166 (talk) 13:39, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
- I think that yours is a valid point, perhaps you could suggest a better version? Apcbg (talk) 17:25, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Temperature drop
[edit]I suppose the stated temperature drop is in ocean (not air) temperature. The article doesn't say which. I don't want to guess-change the article. Could someone who knows specify? - 173.28.188.227 (talk) 15:29, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
- Fixed, thanks for pointing out. Apcbg (talk) 17:21, 27 September 2012 (UTC)
Capitalisation
[edit]Why the cap on "Convergence"?--Gergyl (talk) 07:23, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
"north"
[edit]Do we need the list of places 'north of the Antarctic Convergence'? Isn't everywhere on Earth that isn't south of the Antarctic Convergence, north of the Antarctic Convergence? DS (talk) 23:43, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
- You are right, the relevant sections should better be titled 'Places next north of the Antarctic Convergence' and 'Places next south of the Antarctic Convergence'. Apcbg (talk) 12:53, 10 September 2016 (UTC)
Location
[edit]There is something wrong in the last line of this paragraph. My idea is that the first two figures should be 2.8 C degrees, and 5.0 F degrees, rather than 2.8 degrees C and 5.0 degrees F. This would jibe approximately with the other figures. In any case, 5.0F is definitely not equivalent to 2.8C. Mathyeti (talk) 05:36, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
