Suspicious lack of anything on this talk page

[edit]

How can there be _nothing_ here? Is someone secretly removing comments on what appears to be a completely impossible story? Answers, please. 74.88.75.135 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 08:30, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm surprised too. For such well promoted story, and for so long, why there's no discussion? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.74.226.194 (talk) 15:42, 18 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I work with Anita Moorjani. There used to be quite a few comments on this page. Those comments were deleted, and not by anyone on Anita’s team. It's my understanding that it’s possible for anyone to add or delete content, is that correct? If so, I’m not sure how to prevent this from happening again. Please advise. To see some of those who've expressed skepticism about Anita Moorjani's experience, please see “Controversies” in the article.   Problematic items omitted

  1. Text which was insufficiently paraphrased from the source material has been omitted, per WP:CLOSEPARAPHRASE.
  2. Instances where "Dr." or "MD" was listed have been omitted in favor of the doctor's full name without these credentials, per MOS:DOCTOR. The only "Dr." retained was the mention of Dr. Oz, who meets the rules' exception criteria.
  3. Instances where the subject was referred to as "Anita" were altered to "Moorjani", per MOS:SURNAME.
  4. Unreferenced material was omitted. Items marked as needing citations were retained along with their inline maintenance templates.
  5. Published items were added to a Bibliography section along with ISBNs.
  6. Hong Kong was omitted as the current residence.
  7. A separate Controversy subheading was deleted and its contents subsumed under the preceding section, per WP:CSECTION.
  8. Claims using WP:PEACOCK phrasing were re-phrased (i.e., "internationally acclaimed producer Ridley Scott" became "producer Ridley Scott").
  • These changes are ongoing. As the article is more close examined, other changes may be made. The maintenance templates ought to remain for the time being in order to highlight the continuing need for interested editors to correct and/or address these issues. Once this has been completed they may be removed.

I'm an editor working for Anita Moorjani, so I understand there is a COI. Please see the proposed changes below. Thank you so much for adding Heaven, an experiential journey. Could you please add Barry Goldstein's name. He wrote and performed the music.

Also, will you be adding The Near Death Experience Meditation (also with Barry Goldstein)? I provided a third party reference in previous entry. Thank you! Kellymalone1 (talk) 18:55, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Some proposed changes

[edit]

I'm an editor working for Anita Moorjani, so I understand there is a COI. Please see the proposed changes below to be re-added (with some changes to address citation regarding Fringe material) at the end of the NDE section.

Information to be added or removed: On 2 February 2006, she fell into a deep coma. The doctors told her family that her body had gone into organ failure and she was in her final hours of life.[7] [Note: Is there a way to find this original citation? I checked the history tab, but it’s not shown. It may have been to her first book [1]

Moorjani came out of the coma 30 hours later. During those 30 hours, Moorjani asserts that she experienced many characteristic details of a near death experience [link to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Near-death_experience. Her account includes an out-of-body experience [link to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Out-of-body_experience] with observations and awareness of physical surroundings. Moorjani said she had a strong reluctance to return to her suffering and dying physical body, but was encouraged to return by her father and best friend who told her that she needed to return and to "live her life fearlessly." [citation needed] [2]

Subsequent to coming out of her coma, Moorjani’s tumors shrank by about 70% within four days, and within five weeks, she was cancer-free and released from the hospital, although she had to spend a few months in physiotherapy to regain her strength and the use of all her muscles and limbs.[citation needed] [3]

    • Explanation of issue: In the cleanup to address the template citations (fringe theories), a critical piece was cut from the NDE section. If the way I've rephrased the piece to add back doesn't work, or if you need more from me, please let me know, and I'm happy to provide. Thanks for helping with this. The deletion was explained, but I’d really appreciate help to reintroduce this content while following Wikipedia guidelines. Note: I’ve added citations where original article requested them. If citing Moorjani’s book isn’t sufficient, please let me know, and I’ll search for articles. At the very least, it's important to report that she was in a coma for 30 hours, underwent a self-claimed NDE, and that when she came out of it, she healed.

I have worked with editors and made some changes myself to resolve material that could be conceived as self-promotional or fringe. All self-promotional materials were removed. Statements that could be construed as fringe theories have either been removed or cited per wikipedia guidelines. I have also removed the tags.
