Vertigo
[edit]I'd like to see some expansion on the Vertigo section. One good thing to expand on would be how Buddy was reintegrated into the DCU, or if he just showed up in costume again like the whole "animal god" thing never happened. I wish I could make the edits myself, but non-Morrison issues of Animal Man are scarce in my comic stores. Memorable Lines
[edit]would a memorable lines section be appropriate, i'm thinking of (and probably not remembering 100% perfectly...
- Oh yeah, The big A - Superman.
With the caliber of this series I would agree to a memorable lines section.
Later years?
[edit]- Would anyone happen to have more information of his later years, particulary about his second daughter?
- I agree, a little more information on his changes would be nice as well as pictures. He's gone through so many I believe it's justifiable. Kidney Stone 12:34, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
Great article
[edit]I would just like to state that it brings tears of joy to my eyes to see a comics article, especially for a minor character, to be presented with factual, "real-life" encyclopedic information, and not the usual fiction-presented-as-if-it-were-real-life cruft. Bravo to those who've contributed here. dfg 06:41, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- To each their own; I came to this page because I wanted to know more about the character, not because I wanted to know how many covers he appeared on (not to deny that this is useful information to someone). Did Ellen appear in the Strange Adventures or was she Morrison's creation? I haven't the slightest idea, and the article won't tell me because describing the actual stories is "cruft". - Ellen did appear in the Strange Adventures stories, but as Buddy's girlfriend, not his wife. Buddy proposed to her at the end of his first story (or possibly the second; my memory's unclear). Trivia fact: Buddy did not have a last name in the Strange Adventures stories. He was given the name "Baker" years later when he made a guest appearance in Wonder Woman's magazine. Forgotten Heroes
[edit]I believe that the current description of the Forgotten Heroes is not really accurate. Rip Hunter, at least, used to have his own book, did he not? Luis Dantas 09:40, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
Luis, you were correct--I checked and found that Rip Hunter did indeed have his own series. Accordingly, I deleted the reference that said none of the characters had their own series; further, one might argue that Cave Carson and some of the others had a "series" by appearing regularly in Showcase. gorjus, 16:00, 14 July 2006 (CST)
He was also in Justice League Europe after that, and the JLE was pretty awesome. I think it was going at roughly the same time as the Vertigo series, in the beginning. There should at least be a sentence like: he was an important member of the humor comic, Justice League Europe.

Abilities
[edit]What does it mean that "He can even use the primordial energies to start a new universe"?
and hasnt Buddy acctualy used another persons powers most notibly B'wana Beast's during a zoo conflict? i know this was a rare occsasion bud he utilised boath fleshcraft(creating a chimerablood cell & unfusing the chimeried animals B'wana Beast used during there fight) and animal telapathy during the final battle (that B'wana Beast lost due to his anthrax infection)
- B'wana Beast is an exception. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 06:26, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
- Since Buddy's upgraded powers now let him take the abilities of any animal in the universe, even ludicrously powerful things like Sun-Eaters, wouldn't that make him now the most powerful mortal in the DC universe? 71.203.209.0 04:50, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Grant Morrison run end: Metafiction
[edit]Seriously? No mention of the fact that G.M. wrapped up his run on Animal Man by having the character realize his own fictional nature and even meet the author in-comic? I'd have thought this would qualify as "notable". 174.30.204.172 (talk) 01:10, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
- Why? Not to sound cynical, but comic books often have metafiction sequences, what makes this one any more notable than others? Justin.Parallax (talk) 07:37, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
- I think that if source would be found with such analyzes then it could be included, otherwise it could get removed due to being "original research" or something.BlisterD (talk) 05:19, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
