I believe that this page should be re-created. Greensill is running again and came very close to beating the incumbent last election and considering the polls are so close this time around and that the Maori Party may hold the balance of power in the next government it is important that this person be detailed. In addition she has been leader of several important Maori political movements and though may be consider un"notable" to Pakeha is considered very notable in Maori communities. When the community is satsified that the issues raised int he boxes have been addressed. The {{cleanup}} box can be removed because at this point as the article now has a defined structure and links to other articles here. As for the references box, that can be removed when more external links and sources are added to the article. The page is important to the new zealand election
The page is newly created to capture the next three months up to the election
The page is of public interest and has a place in an encyclopedia
On fairness grounds all candidates in a public election have the right to have a public profile in wikipedia if abiding by the rules
I have nominated this article for deletion on the grounds specified in WP:POLITICIAN. The sources given in this article are not "independent of the subject" given that they are from primary sources. I will be happy to withdraw the nomination if evidence of Ms Greensill's notability in other areas is adduced. However, as it stands I believe that the information in this article belongs on the Māori Party website and not in Wikipedia. If Ms Greensill is successful in the upcoming elections, then I will support the restoration of this article.
Additionally I am dubious about using the category "Māori Party MPs" give that Ms Greensill is not an MP.
In response to RoddyYoung above, please provide evidence that "all candidates in a public election have the right to have a public profile in wikipedia". Kia ora all - Beeswaxcandle (and others) just wanted to get your feedback on the piece now, we have now included only independent sources from Newspapers and TV and have included her notability in other areas (i.e. pivotal in getting tribal land returned to her people). It is important also to remember that in Maori communities her notability is unquestioned. This is continually an issue which we (Maori) fight for, to have our people, our knowledge and our perspectives included in public discourse, by negating her efforts on these grounds Te Ao Maori continues to be undermined. I would just hate to see that continued here in Wikipedia, and no doubt if more Maori were editing these Wikis this would not be an issue but the fact is that few do, something at least our whanau are trying to help with.
Move the second paragraph under the Personal section to the Political section.
The first paragraph under the Personal section doesn't belong in Wikipedia - however, some of this information can be used in other sections. Then remove the Personal section. Also, make the reference to Eva Rickard in the Land Rights section a WikiLink.
Name usage: Sometimes it is "Greensill" and sometimes "Ms Greensill".
The link on turangawaewae is to the Turangawaewae Marae - is this what is meant? If so, then it should be capitalised. If however, it is the "place to stand" of another Marae that is meant, then I suggest the link is made to a definition in Wiktionary (it probably needs creating there).
The claim of expertise in Genetic Engineering needs to be backed up with a considerable body of published data. If it can't be, then the claim needs to be removed.
The general convention on English Wikipedia for words in Māori is to use macrons over the long vowels - particularly in the word Māori.
