[edit]

There's a clear problem with this article - 4 June 1964 birth date, yet "shortly before 14th Birthday"... in June 1987. This needs fixing. Bellezzasolo Discuss 12:15, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Stop Using "sex worker"

[edit]

I and many other women despise the term "sex worker." Prostitution is not a job. These women did not have jobs--they were forced into prostitution and then murdered or assaulted by Urdiales. 5 November 2018 _____

About Andrew Urdiales being on death row in Illinois

[edit]

At the time of this writing, this article says "Today, Andrew Urdiales is on the death row of the Menard Correctional Center in Chester, Illinois". But at the time of this writing, the Capital punishment in Illinois-article says (and I qoute) "Capital punishment was a legal form of punishment in the U.S. state of Illinois until 2011, when it was abolished." and "Democratic Governor Pat Quinn signed legislation on March 9, 2011 to abolish the death penalty in Illinois to go into effect July 1, 2011, and commuted the death sentences of the fifteen inmates on Illinois' death row to life imprisonment." So am I missing something here or is Andrew Urdiales still on death row in a state that abolished the death penalty around seven years ago? @Heart of Destruction: A late response. But, this is what I recall seeing on some recent television program. He was on Death Row in Illinois. The Illinois Governor abolished the death sentences. So, Urdiales was "relieved" of the death penalty in Illinois. At that point, another state (California) elected to try him for a separate California murder, so that Urdiales would still be subjected to the death penalty (albeit in a different state than Illinois). And in California, he did -- in fact -- receive a "new" death sentence. That is how I understood the situation. Ultimately, he died by suicide in prison. At the time of his suicide, he was living on Death Row in a California prison. Perhaps this Wikipedia article's edits did not "keep pace" (get updated to a more-current status) with his changing situations, over the years? Joseph A. I think that the current state of the article -- as of today's date -- is a pretty accurate reflection of what I described in my above comment. Nonetheless, I tweaked it a little bit, to provide further clarification. Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 05:58, 22 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
