[edit]His S.O.G. nickname actually stands for Son Of God as pointed out all across the web: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/more-sport/boxing/2011/12/16/andre-ward-furious-over-son-of-god-jibes-115875-23639537/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.55.210.38 (talk) 13:13, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
It seems to me that this article, like many sports-related pages, falls short of Wikipedia WP:BLP guidelines at times. It reads like a fan-page at times, or like a newspaper back-page sports article. I have merely tried to keep it well-referenced and neutral and to mimimize the amount of original research / POV. I have no strong views on the views themselves (or on Ward as a sportsman). Anyone else want to share a view on whether we should treat a sportsman's page differently to, say, a politician's? We demand very high referencing standards for the latter. I'll abide by any consensus that emerges. Thank you.--GorgeCustersSabre (talk) 15:21, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
Professional boxing record section
[edit]Winning the Super Six World Boxing Classic should be in the notes about the Froch fight. It was at least as significant as the titles that were on the line that night.--Jahalive (talk) 11:16, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
- Why not just put that in the section about fight. Have you ever though of that. No you didnt so im gonna do it for you. And not only that there's an article about it. So tell why its still necessary to do so. --2Nyce (talk) 13:09, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
- It was already in the section about the Froch fight. That fight being the Super Six tournament final was more significant than the titles that night. Why do you want to remove it from the notes?--Jahalive (talk) 20:43, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
- I don't know man. Maybe some people have smaller computer monitors that I do. But every boxing page I come across that has the professional record that looks all bundled up and messy looking (For Ex. Manny Pacquiao) I try to organize it and make it more readable cause like what did I did with Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. page with the current revision cause I could't read what was on the professional record with old revision [1], which usally means I remove things like catch weight, WBO reviews, Ring award references and title eliminator references. --2Nyce 22:46, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
- I like what you did with the Chavez, Jr. page. The record looks better. But I think it's because of what you did with the no contest and the font size for the location. Stuff like the Super Six, catch weight, Ring magazine awards and if it was a title eliminator is useful information and doesn't wreck the format.--Jahalive (talk) 07:22, 13 April 2013 (UTC)
- To be honest. It looks exactly the way I try not to make it. I don't see how you can accept how that looks. --2Nyce (talk) 15:46, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
- I don't understand. Why do you think stuff like the Super Six, catch weight, Ring magazine awards, etc. makes the tables less readable?--Jahalive (talk) 14:15, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

Duplicate sections
[edit]Can somebody explain the reason why the bottom 4 sections of article, and the succession boxes are duplicated? They have been appearing twice in the article for a number of months according to the history, and every time an editor removed the duplicate sections, the edits were reverted. The "Titles in boxing" section, "Filmography" section, "References" section (except the duplicate here is just a header, the reflist is only listed once), the "External links" section, and the succession boxes are all appearing twice.
