Dual nationality

[edit]

If this article is going to claim that she has dual nationality then some sourcing needs to be provided to verify that. MarnetteD|Talk 23:14, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That is what I said in the edit summary also. She is a immigrant to the US at age 6. She has apparently lived in the US 59 years now. The infobox parameter is for Nationality, not Ethnicity. Specifying ethnicity in the infobox was deprecated years ago. Furthermore. some of the sources mention she was born in Mexico, but none call her Mexican or Mexican-American. She should not be in the Mexican film actresses category either. MB 23:21, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
CabriniGreenChicago, you need to establish a consensus here to make your changes. You have not participated in the discussion. Two other editors have told you there are no sources to support your change. MB 20:36, 9 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

References about dual nacionality

[edit]

Ana Alicia has dual nationality, when referring to the Wikipedia article as Mexican-American, it does not refer to the "Mexican-American" ethnic group, but rather refers to the dual nationality that she has. The same happens with Salma Hayek who has both nationalities and appears as Mexican-American, other cases that make this reference to dual nationality are those of the late sisters Olivia de Havilland and Joan Fontaine who were British-Americans and Wikipedia accredits them as such. The same happens with the brothers Christopher and Jonathan Nolan who have dual citizenship, being British-Americans. One more example is Jonathan Kinnaman, a Swedish-American actor. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CabriniGreenChicago (talkcontribs) 22:22, 11 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As has been explained more than once you need to provide a WP:RS. Just saying it does not meet the criteria for inclusion. MarnetteD|Talk 00:25, 12 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The only refs you have used are wikipedia WP:MIRROR sites and have copied directly from this site. They are not reliable sources. Please stop ignoring this fact. MarnetteD|Talk 00:29, 12 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Per WP:RS/IMDB the site cannot be used as a ref. MarnetteD|Talk 02:47, 12 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
So far none of the refs you have tried using make any distinction between nationality and ethnicity. You need evidence/proof of dual citizenship. MarnetteD|Talk 02:50, 12 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
