Do we really need ARIN logo from 2001?
[edit]The image is bad quality, and I don't think it really adds anything to the article. Unless someone voices an objection, I'll put it up for deletion. §§§§ Alquerytalk 23:47, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
- It does show the initial geography of the organization 68.48.171.239 (talk) 04:36, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
- It should be reinserted in the History section since it has relevant info but from historical perspective — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.53.198.130 (talk) 15:55, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

American Registry for Internet Numbers → ARIN – ARIN is the common name for this organisation, as per: WP:COMMONNAME Angryskies (talk) 15:27, 5 July 2020 (UTC)—Relisting. Mdaniels5757 (talk) 21:04, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). – Ammarpad (talk) 16:13, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
- Per WP:ACRONYMTITLE, this is an institution for which
the full name is used in professional and academic publications
, and the full name is used on both their website and in their logo. It should be discussed on the talk pages before moving. --Ahecht (TALK
PAGE) 15:56, 5 July 2020 (UTC) - Oppose can't see any benefit to readers when the acronym also leads to the WP:RECOGNIZABILITY title In ictu oculi (talk) 12:07, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
- Comment This is the common name, like its fellow RIR's APNIC, AFRINIC and LACNIC. If there was another organisation that used ARIN as its name or an abbreviation, then I wouldn't consider moving the article.
- Oppose - per WP:TITLEFORMAT:"Avoid ambiguous abbreviations". There is a pretty high bar set for which acronyms are so well-known that we would avoid using the full name, and I don't think this case meets it. ARIN already redirects, so this has no impact on editors or searchers. -- Netoholic @ 08:01, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:ACRONYMTITLE. As an encyclopedia, we should use an organization's full name as its article's title except in those rare instances where the topic is known almost exclusively by an abbreviation. Station1 (talk) 18:25, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
